India is still an officially secular nation, but maybe not for long

Secular India appears on its way to becoming a Hindu state.

Last Monday, India witnessed the spectacle of millions watching on television as Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a temple to the Hindu god Ram built upon the ruins of a historic 16th-century mosque demolished by a mob in 1992 in the northern city of Ayodhya.

Erasing the distinction between church and state, Modi called it a "divine moment" that marked "Ram's rule again" and the end of a "slavery mindset." With the building of the temple, he said that 1,000 years of slavery was finished.

Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has always taken the position that India is a Hindu nation that was enslaved by Muslims in the 11th century and then later by British conquerors. It has portrayed secular opposition parties -- namely the Congress party that ruled India for decades -- as having a "colonial mindset" of looking down on Hindus and being preoccupied with seeking the votes of Muslims and Christians, who together constitute about 17% of the country's population.

Yet secularism is still enshrined in the Constitution of India. Until recently, only a fringe section of the BJP publicly demanded a shift to official Hinduism, but the notion now seems to be moving centerstage with more BJP politicians embracing the idea in the media.

In 1947, India adopted (or coopted) the “religion” of post-modern, globalist socialism.

We all know its a false, and flimsy, religion

The old gods will return.

Some say that “Hinduism” was a creation of British scholars, uniting all of the diverse cults of the region into one denomination.

There have been native Indian Christians since the mission of the Apostle Thomas!

India—respect your Christians!

The Ram Mandir (lit. transl. Rama Temple) is a Hindu temple under construction in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is located at the site believed by many Hindus to be Ram Janmabhoomi, the reputed birthplace of Rama, a principal deity of Hinduism.[6][7]

The site is the former location of the Babri Masjid mosque, which was built in the 16th century CE. The idols of Rama and Sita were placed in the mosque in 1949, before it was attacked and demolished in 1992.[8][9][10] In 2019, the Supreme Court of India delivered the verdict to give the disputed land to Hindus for construction of a temple, while Muslims would be given land elsewhere to construct a mosque.[11] The court referenced a report from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) as evidence suggesting the presence of a structure beneath the demolished Babri Masjid, that was found to be non-Islamic.[12]

Everywhere islam conquered, colonialized and settled, they built mosques directly on top of the indigenous religions’ holiest sites.

Dome of the Rock on top of Jews’ Western Wall of the Second Temple.

Converting the Hagia Sophia into a mosque.

Destroying the Hundu temple at the birthplace of Ram and building a mosque.

islam should stop it’s culturally destructive invasions and superiorist settler colonial mosque placement.

A “secular” state is a pathway to godless liberalism and the cultural depravity that follows. If Hinduism is their majority religion (> 80% ) let them be a de facto hindu state while ensuring religious liberty to non Hindus.

Socialism failed badly in India. Since Janata party defeated Congress party a few decades ago, India has quadrupled its GDP.

**************
Done repeatedly throughout the world as Muslims conquered other countries. Muslim conquerors demolished churches, Hindu temples, and any other religious structures they encountered, and placed mosques on the sites, thus fulfilling their call the “Allah is greater”(not great, not greatest, but greater).

In Turkey the Hagia Sophia (the world's largest cathedral for nearly a thousand years) was turned into a mosque in the 15th century, then a museum in the 1930’s, and now a mosque again by the present government in Turkey.

Some say that the Dome of the Rock was an Orthodox Christian church, prior to being converted to a second mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. The first mosque being the Mosque of Omar (built by a Persian Muslim conqueror around 670 AD.

The same could be said about Christianity.

It is one religion but with numerous deities (Gods). Each Hindu has their favorite deity for worship. The 3 main Gods are Brahma, Vishnu & Shankar. Hindu’s believe in reincarnation. Your next life will be based on how many good deeds and bad deeds you did in previous life. Also, sins can not be washed away by repentance. They believe bad deeds must be countered with more good deeds to secure better life next time.

It seems to be a dharma.

Possibly it is a religion, but I don’t think Hindus would care.
