You seem to have forgotten that we were at war with Osama Bin Laden and his terrorist organization. Congress gave legal approval to do so.
Assassination outside of war is illegal.
If we don’t hit them (Iranian gov’t) hard enough to scare them, they will continue to slowly ramp up their program.* At some point then we must respond heavily.

If we “simply” (it’s never actually “simple”) retreat the mullahs will be encouraged and more quickly ramp up their program, funded by our own appeaser-idiots and oil / gas revenues.
If we hit them hard, pause, and say “you want any more?”, we risk a wider conflict, but, the history is that the mullahs back down when sternly confronted by superior force. They have two “drone carriers”, and that observation ship in the Red Sea. All and more definitely need to become fish shelters.
I watched the vid - you’d think that they could at least give a Crown Prince a few lines... Or a scene in a small craft with something to shoot at. He’s a legit fighter pilot.

Initially we were going to smack Iran hard. Trump found out at the last minute there’d likely be a lot of collateral casualties (at least that’s how I understand it), so he cancelled the strike(s?) and gave Iran another chance. Iran took that as weakness, forcing Trump’s hand, and so the decision to take out Solemani was made.
Yes we clonked ISIS, with the considerable aid on the ground of our Syrian Kurd allies. We are still there helping them to keep ISIS squashed / seeds from sprouting too vigorously.
Not at all. Trump didn’t blow up other heads of state. Big difference from vaporizing a couple of goat humpers in the desert.
I suppose that if ya’ want to do it present day German style, dotting all the i’s and crossing all the t’s (would Biden get that backwards?) you’d have Congress authorize actions against all the Iranian proxies who’ve struck us. That would pass easily - probably super-majorities.
Then that leaves the somewhat murky question of who actually directs the proxies, makes them effective with arms and training, etc. Definitely figures like Solemani can be taken out as military actions. Deep enough intel would likely reveal even higher.
Yes, Russia could argue something similar, but they know darn well what would happen if they hit any US / NATO leaders.
That’s a pretty imaginative description of Solemani. Probably would infuriate the Iranians more than just blowing him up. In fact, I’m certain of it.

She’s saying kill the leaders when they leave the country, but the Supreme Leader in Iran is Khamenei and he doesn’t leave the country. SO the people she’s referring to must be IRGC if she wants to try to kill them when they leave Iran. I guess she’s using the term “leaders” a bit loosely.
