Biden has been sucking oil out of our reserve for years now to increase his approval ratings and it’s almost 400,000,000 barrels below about 2 years ago.

Spare me the “US is oil dependent” line. Oil prices are all interlocked plus even if that we still get 16% from that region. Also we would have to take up the slack in NATOs shortfall.
The US is currently a net petroleum exporter.
Under those conditions a petroleum reserve is useful to have some control of international prices, but not so much as a buffer vs local shortages.
