They were trying to stop some Trans bills...I hope it can be appealed.

Insane because the Oregon Supreme Court followed the law as approve by popular vote in 2022?
To: NoLibZone
I need more info….were they in their offices during the boycott? Did the voter passed rule define an absence?

Well, that’s absurd. I live in Southern Oregon and two excellent Senators were kicked off the ballot due to this.

Those absence ballots stopped a LOT of really bad legislation, from gun bans to cap-and-trade. zIt would have worked more successfully had the GOP “leadership” not caved at the very last minute and stopped the walkout.

A problem here is how “absence without an excuse” is defined.
The congressmen walked out as a form of protest. Therefore, the protest was the excuse. Some may not like the excuse, but it is very much an excuse all the same.

The Republicans need to find new candidates and drop the absence tactics. You & others clearly have no clue what's really going on in Oregon.

They just run as independents, and take out the Dems who are in office.

Won’t matter. Those cities and counties out east will send in kamikazi reps every time. Walking out of quorum is the ONLY way to slow Portland, Salem, and Ashland from controlling all aspects of Oregon. They will not be eligible to run again after walking out so anyone will run just to be ‘that guy’ to piss off the democrats.
