Newsom Stands By ‘Equitable’ Electricity Bills as Opposition Builds

California governor Gavin Newsom is standing by the state’s soon-to-be-implemented "equitable" policy to base electricity bills on income, rather than usage, even as public and political opposition to the idea builds in the Democratic coalition.

A spokesman for the governor said on Tuesday that Newsom is looking forward to seeing a final proposal from the state's utilities commission "that is consistent with" the 2022 law that required the agency to devise an income-based billing system.

How about equitable tolls so that people with jobs pay less because they need the roads to get to work. Clogging the roads with non-working drivers causes traffic and costs companies money and causes tired less efficient workers.

“I am sure this idiocy will be challenged in Court.”

How are elections and courts working out so far?

” If electricity is $0.45 per killowatt hour, based on your income (meaning you have one) you might be paying $0.65 per hour, or who knows how they will divide it, while the welfare family will be paying $0.25 per hour.”

Ok I can understand that.

Wonder how this would work for a business/commercial user. Does the little bodega pay $0.25 per kilowatt hour and the Walmart a mile away pay $0.65?

Just like healthcare, state and federal taxes.
There is something heartwarming about hearing over and over people talking about paying zero dollars for healthcare insurance.

If I were a low-income person in California and I had cheap electricity, I know what I’d be doing all year long.

Quit yer complaining, neighbors. And keep on voting Democrat.

Of course it will be, but during the decades long worth of litigation the tyrant’s in black robes will allow the illegal scheme to become law until it isn’t. It’s called “Process Is Meaningful Punishment.” Or P-I-M-P for short.

Too bad the stupid party cannot figure that out or learn an even more insidious but effective warfare strategy…Alinsky’s 10 Step Rules for Radicals. That’s the communist’s equivalent to our Biblical 10 Commandments. And it works every time it’s tried.

While you’re researching Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals take a side trip and learn about the Cloward-Piven Strategy conceived in 1966 and is playing out as per the strategy today everywhere you look.

Until we learn these terrible strategies the dims practice, we are insured to be politically defeated every day and twice on Sunday, just think for a minute who’s winning with these strategies…had enough yet? I certainly have.

If you ever get to visit the home of a rich environmentalist, or even one of their part-time homes, look at the meters if you can, and compare the size of their electric meter, gas meter, and water meter, to your own, they have commercial size meters.

Love to see this crap going on in Ca... Hope to see much more of it...For instance, why not apply the same approach on vehicle registration renewal fees etc..

No longer involved with that state's craziness, but am curious to watch events there to see how much more the moronic middle class there will tolerate.

So the middle class is going to take it on the chin to pay for low income electricity bills...

We pay for libraries we can't use, public transit we can't use, why stop now?
