By merely asking for examples, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas calmly destroyed respondents’ argument for disqualifying former President Donald Trump from Colorado’s 2024 presidential primary ballot.
The moment came on Thursday morning, during oral arguments on Trump’s appeal to overturn the Colorado Supreme Court’s Dec. 19 decision to keep him off the Centennial State’s 2024 primary ballot. Colorado’s highest court claimed in its ruling that the former president can be “disqualified” from holding office under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which stipulates that “[n]o person” who has previously sworn an oath as an officer of the United States and has “engaged in insurrection or rebellion shall” serve in any of an enumerated list of offices of the United States.
The president and vice president are not included in this list of positions.

Cleaver was Constitutionally ineligible to hold the office of president at age 31 but not ineligible to be on the ballot for president.
I am so sick of hearing this called an insurrection. The 14th amendment was passed after a 4 year civil war that resulted in about 1.5 million casualties.
January 6th had 1, probably innocent, unarmed women shot by a cop.
Just how did a couple hundred rioters and curious followers intend to overthrow the government?
Only if you have a wild imagination and a good knowledge of law so keen that you willfully mislabel the riot as an "insurrection"

I left the Democrat party when I saw how Joe and the other Dems smeared Clarence Thomas. They even talked about looking into Thomas’s records for his video rentals..
Actually, my recollection was that Cleaver’s name was kept off the ballot so the P&F Party only had a VP candidate. I was living in California at the time, but was not old enough to vote.

That’s my first memory of Biden, and he proved his bias and racism in that “high tech lynching” of Justice Thomas.
