President Biden confused two foreign leaders and their countries in yet another gaffe — moments after fuming “my memory is fine” during a hastily scheduled news conference at the White House.
During his brief address to the nation Thursday night, Biden, 81, brought up the Israel-Hamas war and said he worked with the president of Mexico to help send aid into the war zone.
“As you know, initially, the president of Mexico Sisi, did not want to open up the gate to allow humanitarian material to get in [to Gaza],” Biden said. “I talked to him. I convinced him to open the gate.”

I know you’re joking, but they really have increased his work day from about 7hrs to 9 or 10 and he can’t take it, and it shows.
I think they’ve already talked to him about stepping down & he adamantly refused. So, the only way to get rid of him is to prove his diminished capacity by allowing him to make more public speeches, which will repeatedly demonstrate his condition. If that doesn’t work, they’ll have to remove him against his will, but they’re trying to avoid that scene.
You described the 80 year old mind perfectly. In my 80th year I’m experiencing exactly the same. At least the effect has not disturbed my critical thinking. My aunt worked until 85 with mental acuity sharp. It was her eyesight that led her to retire. Her memory started to regress a bit at 95 when she complained that she could not remember where she left her checkbook.

If Biden is too “sympathetic” to boot, we have to survive as a country for another 11 months with Biden at the wheel.
If he were merely a private citizen there is no way he’d be allowed to drive a car, but he can drive the USA?
OTOH if Biden is discharged on a 25A, we get President Harris. Spreading the border gates wide and openly endorsing citizenship for all.

I think the White House staff (that actually run the government) had planned to convince Biden to step down after the primaries. After all, the primaries are messy and you’re never quite sure who will win. Better to let Biden win all the elected delegates before making the announcement.
The super delegates are a big enough block that they can rely on that group plus a significant portion of the then fragmented Biden delegates to assure themselves of their candidate of choice.
Unfortunately for them, this is all coming to a head too soon. Now they either keep pushing an increasingly incompetent Biden only to withdraw him later or they allow those unpredictable voters to have a say.
Surely there is at least one patriotic democrat who will tell Emperor Joe that he has no clothes.
Exactly. What we are witnessing is his party throwing him under the bus. We all know this was coming, but we’re now actually seeing it in real time.
I’ve personally witnessed and had to deal with sundowning on a nightly basis and I’m not convinced Biden has it. He’s always had a temper and I think the long days are just taking their toll physically and emotionally.

Have you noticed that Joey HAS been out in public more over the past few weeks. Gaffs every time. I just wonder just how far the Dems will go? The more Joey proves his lack of mental ability the more the Dems look bad for leaving him there.

I think they’re trying to put pressure on Jill & his family to coax him into retiring gracefully. They don’t want to have to force him out. Either way, Harris gets to be Pres for the remainder of his term, and the Dems get into the history books for having the 1st woman/woman of color POTUS. (tho they don’t want her at the top of the ticket in Nov.)
