Republican Rep. Andy Biggs’ wife has picked the candidate she wants to represent Arizona’s Tucson-area 6th Congressional District. But it’s not her husband’s colleague, the incumbent Rep. Juan Ciscomani.

Cindy Biggs has instead endorsed Kathleen Winn, a former conservative talk radio host and activist who is challenging Ciscomani, R-Ariz., from the right in this year's GOP primary race.

See below story. Ciscomani is an Establishment rep.

And he's one of the 45 who signed the letter decrying McCarthy's removal.

So he can be nipped in the bud, removed before he gets worse.

Ciscomani is a McCain squish, backed by the failed Maricopa County octopus.

Winn ran in 2022 and finished a distant 3rd in the primary.

Current cash-on-hand:

Ciscomani: $2.1 million

Winn: $7,401.41

Good luck. Send her a check; she obviously needs the help.

But hey, if you really want a well-funded opponent for Ciscomani, there’s always the liberal Democrat who’s running against him — the same one he barely beat last time around in this marginal district where Trump lost in 2020.

Maybe pick your battles a little bit smarter next time?

Eliminate a RINO in a solidly Republican district or state? By all means go for it. But the Stupid Party didn’t get that name for no reason, and the Stupid Wing of the Stupid Party is clueless about the nature of this district.

Not that it matters much in this case. The endorsement of Andy Biggs’ wife, or his mailman, or his 3rd cousin’s niece’s bagboy at the grocery store, carries just about zero weight anyway.

Do Republicans really need another political novice, personal brand-builder who gets nothing done?

Ah yeah, no. She is doing the bidding that her husband can’t really do, because they are currently collogues.

____________

You go it all wrong. He is from Tucson. No Maricopa county whatsoever.
And his district is very moderate, toss up.
It has been represented by several democrats and moderate Republicans. Anytime Rep nominated radical, it failed miserably (they tried few times).
You should be thankful for Ciscomani. The Only alternative is a radical Democrat.

Good post.

This “RINO” voted about 80% the right way in 2023 so he’s far better than any other *plausible* alternative. He’s going to have his hands quite full in November trying to get re-elected, but probably won’t have anything but underfunded pissant-level opposition in the primary, Andy Biggs’ wife’s opinion notwithstanding.

That primary may still be enough to damage him sufficiently to hand the seat to a Democrat in November, though. A swing of just 1 or 2 percent to the left will seal the deal.

Much of this thread illustrates that those who feeeeel rather than think, reflexively spout off without any regard for the actual facts.

I live in Pima county sometimes. And Tucson might lean Democrat thanks to a Marxist mayor, double-voting students from the U. of Arizona, and illegals with their hands out, but the Arizona Republican Party from Maricopa south to Pima is run by and through Phoenix and the remnant of the McCain cabal. Ciscomani is a tool of that cabal. His voting pattern is, conservatively speaking, unreliable.

Let me guess: "unreliable" = "anything less than 100% of what I want it to be". And I guess 80% "reliable" isn't good enough in a district that doesn't even vote 50% Republican.

Here is Ciscomani's record on key votes for his first year in Congress:

2023 key vote data for Juan Ciscomani

Note how the usual suspects don't bother to bleat about his "Liberty Score"?

That's because he doesn't have one, nor does anyone who was first elected in 2022. And THAT'S because the Liberty guys are just a wee bit out of date, what with grading a whopping one vote for all of 2023. Even if they had data, it would be a smaller sample size and therefore of dubious importance.

The linked voting data shows that Ciscomani voted the right way 79% of the time based on nearly 3 dozen key votes in the House in 2023. His only 2 substantive votes where he failed to be perfectly conservative were when he supported Kevin McCarthy and failed to support George Santos.

But don't worry, the Democrat who replaces him probably WILL be perfect. Perfectly liberal. Then maybe 80% conservative won't look so bad after all.

Thank you for being the voice of reason. Juan gets it from both sides so he must be doing something right.
He had been working hard for his constituents and is always open to questions.Just look at his X page.
