Putin Signs Law That Will Confiscate Assets From Critics of Armed Forces

Associated Press — Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law Wednesday that will allow authorities to confiscate money, valuables and other assets from people convicted of spreading “deliberately false information” about the country’s military.

The bill sailed through the lower and upper houses of the Russian parliament, and was unanimously endorsed by the upper house last week.

The speaker of the lower house, Vyacheslav Volodin, said the measure includes harsher punishment for “traitors who sling mud at our country and our troops” and would “strip those scoundrels of honorary titles, confiscate their assets, money and other valuables.”

Russian officials have used the existing law against “discrediting” the military that covers offenses such as “justifying terrorism” and spreading “fake news” about the armed forces to silence Putin´s critics. Multiple activists, bloggers and ordinary Russians have received long prison terms.

The new confiscation law would also apply to those convicted of publicly inciting “extremist activities” and calling for actions harmful to state security or “discrediting” the armed forces. Discrediting the Russian military became a criminal offense under a law adopted as part of a sweeping government crackdown on dissent after Moscow sent troops into Ukraine in February 2022.

The international symbol
      for you are about
        to read a really
       stupid comment

Supporting Ukraine is supporting an anti-American, anti-Trump, child molesting, human trafficking, US taxpayer money laundering, democrap funding, criminal, outlaw State.

Supporting Ukraine is simply telling us all you are a liberal democrap.

The evidence is overwhelming.

Ukraine and Zelensky banned all opposition political parties.

Put that in your bong and toke it.

—”Only a liar or idiot thinks Russia is more of a threat to the US than the politicians allowing open borders.”

How is it possible to be conservative and a commie supporter at the same time?

And post on a conservative site?

Only a pretend conservative could make such statements.

Yes, you and yours might want to explain why you are backing the World Economic Forum, the Biden regime and George Soros in this proxy war in Ukraine.

No American First conservative would support the proxy war in Ukraine.

Are you familiar with fallacious arguments?

I guess not.
Your state is simply flat-out fallacious BS.

why did the majority of Republicans in the Senate vote against more aid to Ukraine with most notorious RINOs voting for the legislation?

Why is Mike Johnson blocking the bill in the House?

Because the majority of the base is opposed to giving anymore money to Ukraine and the failed proxy war we started there. Duh!

You're the one supporting something the vast majority of Trump supporters and conservatives oppose.

BTW, WE, UNDER BIDEN, are more like the Soviet Union than modern-day Russia.

Under Putin, Russia has implemented a 13% flat tax rate, spent billions building churches, rejects the LGBT and green agenda.

You're the one creating straw man arguments. Nothing about Russia resembles a communism nation anymore.

In case you didn’t notice, the Soviet Union didn’t go away, it just changed management.

The Communists were just a change of management from the Tsars, too. East Slavic culture requires a god-like maximum leader, a mindset learned from the Mongols, and can't abide anything else. Hence the emergence of Stalin after the shambles of 1917, and then eventually a Putin emerges from the wreck of the Soviet Union.

China has the same problem. In 3000 years there has never been a government in China where the people are sovereign. That concept is strictly a Western European invention.

A pretend conservative who worships Putin and mostly posts fallacious BS.

You mention straw man arguments, and that is just what you put out in the very same post.

No one believes your posts, not even the others in your cadre.
Putin demolished a church to build the new Moscow MEGA mosque!
He has to keep the muzzies happy much of Russia’s mineral wealth is on muzzie land.

The big party with Putin’s queer highroller pals mostly naked.
Well, some wore socks, just one and not on a foot???
They are Russians, they are queers; GET USED TO IT.

No more 13%, NOW 15%, and going up.
Flat tax, yes for a part of the personal income tax system.

Plus...”a series of new revenue sources – including a value-added tax (VAT), income tax, excise taxes on alcohol and tobacco products, and other levies.”

The VAT rate jumped from 18 percent to 20 percent in January 2019.

Some that make more than $40,000 USD get hammered with up to 45%. How nice.
NOT TO WORRY!
The taxes are paid in rubles worth less than toilet paper!
And most Russians do not have indoor toilets or toilet paper. Well, a few that they looted.

Modern Russia, where the soldiers go looting for toilets and washing machines.

-—”The regional FSB headquarters in Kazan suffered a major fire and was almost completely destroyed. Shortly after, a man called looking for help.

“I’m sorry, we can’t do anything,” said the receptionist. “The FSB has burnt down.”

Five minutes later, the receptionist received another call. “I’m sorry, we can’t help. The FSB has burnt down.”

Another five minutes passed, and the phone rang again. The receptionist recognized the voice as the man who’d twice called previously.

“Why do you keep calling? I told you that the FSB has burnt down.”

“I know. I just like hearing it.”

Trump agrees with me. He would end this war in 24 hours by cutting off all funding for it.

I proudly voted for JD Vance. He agrees with me.

The VAST majority of conservatives in Congress agree with me -- no more money for this failed proxy war in Ukraine.

The Republicans pushing this war, the ones you are in agreement with, are RINOs like Lindsey Graham, Mitt Romney and McConnell.

The party of Bush and neocons is dead, much your chagrin.

No more 13%, NOW 15%, and going up.

It's still less than half of what are top rate is.

In our wildest dreams, we could never have gotten a 13% flat tax rate passed.

Remove the grunt part of your name. You're simply DUMB if you think a country that implemented a 13% flat tax rate is stil communism.

Who is pretending to be a conservative? Anyone, including you, one board with the LGBT agenda.

Do you object to Russia banning the promotion of the LGBT agenda to children? Do you object it banning gay marriage? Sex changes on kids? Drag queen story hour?

Stop pretending you're a conservative or your problems with Russia have anything to do with communism.

Russia is a more conservative country as whole than we are.

During the course of the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln was responsible for shutting down more than 300 newspapers (1). In a telegram sent to Major General Dix on May 18th, 1864, Lincoln orders military occupation of the New York World newspaper for something that was “wickedly and traitorously printed and published,” (1).

You are working your strawman to death.
Perhaps one of your fellow cadres can help you.

I worked in one of the queerest parts of Chicago for years.
Most of the males working in my building were queer.

Many were political conservatives, but not all.

They do not bother me, hate the sin not the sinner.
