COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A Columbus man has been sentenced to more than 14 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to taking part in a terrorist organization’s plot to murder former President George W. Bush.

Shihab Ahmed Shihab Shihab, 53, was sentenced in federal court on Monday to 178 months in prison and a lifetime of supervised release following his prison sentence, according to U.S. Attorney Kenneth Parker.

“[Shihab] believed the former president was responsible for killing many Iraqis and breaking apart the entire country of Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom,” said Parker. “The defendant’s own life changed during and after the war and he proudly assisted in this plot.”

An “Ohio” man?
A “Columbus” man?

178 months in prison

Yes, 14 years which usually means about 3-4 served in follow up stories I look up from true crime book cases and FBI Files episodes. Almost no one really serves the full, weak, sentences.

Re: 4 - No. In Federal prison, you’ll generally do at least 1/3 of the sentence, before being eligible for parole. That is highly dependent on the offense.

It depends on whether it's a federal or state prison and whether the media and powers that be hate or like you.

Yes, the federal ones. I give up.

Messed up dna, prosecutor’s office missteps causing review of earlier cases, earned and good time credits applied, covid and other overcrowding and other causes may reduce the average of 85% of sentence being served.

What is the new law for federal inmates 2023?
The 2023 amendments will clarify and expand what qualifies as “extraordinary and compelling reasons” for reducing a federal sentence, also sometimes referred to as “compassionate release.” Previously, this term was ill-defined and limited in scope, making it hard for older inmates to benefit from it.

to conduct surveillance of locations associated with Bush...recorded videos of the front access gate and the surrounding area leading into the neighborhood of Bush’s home...met with others in a hotel room to look at sample firearms and law enforcement uniforms...required the use of burner phones, encrypted communication applications and code names as plans evolved.

Dang dude. "Your mission should you accept it" indeed. Yet despite all that craftiness the Fuds got him anyway? I think he fell off the Allah Wagon and ran his mouth in a bar.

Brief summary of new reduction of sentences....
I wonder how many federal prisoners were not raped or abused?

If you look at the Enron case you can see how it all worked.

Ken Lay, the founder of Enron, died when things were falling apart. So they couldn’t blame him.

The CFO, Andres Fastow, who masterminded the shell companies and perfected the methods of cooking the books and also named them after his family members, he and his wife who was part of the scheme, got off with 5 years at an’addiction’ clinic for his addiction to anti-anxiety pills and she got a year in a half-way house.

If you’re wondering why they allowed the mastermind Fastow to skate there’s a simple answer. The Fastows had A LOT of money. He partnered with some companies while at Enron and made 43 million. (Then his wife helped him conceal it in tax returns.) With that money they donated heavily to the Houston museum, symphony and synagogue and were well wired with the judicial system. So they couldn’t blame him!

Meanwhile the former CEO, Skilling, who did’t even work for Enron and had only been a CEO there for 6 months, he did 13 years of hard time! They wouldn’t even let him out to go to his son’s funeral. That’s how our Just-us system works.

You can't ask Whitey Bulger. They set him up and put him in the general population with known enemies while he was being transferred for medical care. How long did he last? Six hours? Inmates were taking bets on how long he stayed alive. That our government! And I used to feel sorry for the people in Russia.

His parents stuttered when they named him. Apparent they like a lot of shihab despite its smell.

I see the problem here. It's a case of mistaken identity.

"Shihab Ahmed Shihab Shihab, 53, was sentenced in federal court"

Shihab Ahmed Shihab Shihab was mixed up with his nearly identical cousin (you know that cousin-marriage thingie) Shihab Shihab Achmed Shihab Shihab.

Simple mistake. Anyone coulda made it.

Not to be confused with third cousin, twice removed, "Shish Kabob", who was thoroughly skewered by the alternative media.
