How is that fine not in violation of the 8th amendment let alone the 14th given the way the entire trial was handled?

I assume that Trump can sue New York for damages once this abortion is done. He should own New York State when he gets through with this Kangaroo Court.

Doubtful that the 8th Amendment is in play as this was a civil action. The 14th Amendment (Due Process Clause) may provide an avenue for relief.
