Weaponry systems in Ukraine, many of which were supplied by European countries, have been rendered unworkable, not due to Russian interference, but because of damage caused by mice and other rodents. Seemingly, these creatures have developed a preference for cable insulation made of corn fiber over synthetic materials. This predilection leads to malfunctioning electrical installations, rendering the expensive equipment essentially worthless, and requiring rapid overhauling.
Mice and rats have become a bane on the frontline for both Ukrainian and Russian forces, with these rodents capable of nesting almost anywhere, even in the exhaust systems of armored vehicles.
The disadvantage of eco-friendly military equipment in a war zone Advanced mid-range anti-aircraft systems such as the SAMP/T battery or short-range variants like the IRIS-T in SLM and SLS versions have also found their way to Ukraine. The former are designed to combat high-altitude aircrafts at around 74.5 miles or ballistic missiles at a 18.6-mile distance. Meanwhile, the IRIS-T SLM systems are intended to tackle aircrafts or drones and manoeuvering missiles within a range of up to 24.8 miles (SLM) or roughly 6.2 miles (SLS).
Several European countries have supplied a wide range of weapon systems. However, the dilemma of ensuring electrical insulation durability has become a sticking point for newer equipment. This issue affects a multitude of nations where ESG (Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance) guidelines are making their way into the arms industry.

“Seemingly, these creatures have developed a preference for cable insulation made of corn fiber over synthetic materials.”
Do tell, rodents like corn? My. My.
My sympathies. I’ve had them strip foam air filters bare for nesting material.
Never had this problem with the catapult.
In my off-grid opinion, mice are among the most dangerous predators on the planet, and good mouser cats valuable livestock. Any so called prepper experts that do not address this issue are not worth the time of day.
“This is symptomatic of the inevitable fall of the globalist worldview.”
The fall of Western Civilization.
Cettainly the corn derived plastic can be treated in some way to make it less palatable. Or maybe just go back to synthetic polymers. It doesn’t solve the current problem, but long term it would be better.

Gads, the idiocy of this.
equal portions of corn meal to baking soda...this time of the year barn cats can not keep up
I’ve had similar problems with telephone lines, satellite coax and Jeep wiring.
My neighbor has a wonderful cat that comes over and takes care of the mice.
I would give the cat a high five if they were a little more friendly.
:-)
Agreed.
"Eco-friendly weapons." Only total ideologues and woke, neo-marxists, as found in Brussels and DC, can be this ridiculous.

Has Greta given her blessing to this effort?
Toyota Camry’s also.
Good Lord, this is another reason why woke green globohomoism is bound to fail. The Uke soldiers seem to make excellent warriors as they haven’t been totally indoctrinated by the West. Wait until we see the Western rainbow warrior led NATO troops in action. It will not be pretty.
Happened to my friends car once. Rats got up and chewed through some wires. Guess you have to put some peppermint under the hood to keep them away.
“eco-friendly military equipment...”
Anyone so stoopid to worry about the effect on the environment by machines designed to kill and blow up things, including the environment deserve to go extinct.
