Zelensky: 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers killed in Russia's war
Kyiv Independent ^ | 02 25 2024 | Kyiv Independent news desk

Posted on 02/25/2024 9:51:32 AM PST by yesthatjallen

Around 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been recorded as killed by Russia's war, President Volodymyr Zelensky said at the "Ukraine. Year 2024" forum in Kyiv on Feb. 25.

"Each person is a very big loss for us. 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers died in this war," the president said. "It is very painful for us."

The announcement is the first time Zelensky has publicly stated a figure on the death toll of Ukrainian soldiers since the start of the full-scale invasion. The Ukrainian government has kept a tight lid on casualty numbers during the war.

Zelensky did not clarify if the number covers the entire 10 years of Russian aggression against Ukraine or is just for the last two years of the full-scale invasion. The number is also those that have been officially accounted for as killed in the war. The actual figure is likely to be higher.

He also said that 180,000 Russian soldiers have been killed in the war, and that along with the wounded, Russia has suffered 500,000 casualties.

"I won't say how many wounded (Ukrainians) there are because Russia will know how many people have left the battlefield."

Independent Russian media outlets Meduza and Mediazona reported in a joint study on Feb. 24 that 83,000 Russian soldiers had been killed in Russia's war.

All Z-Man had to do was abide by the Minsk Accords he signed off on and there would have been no war.

Period.

Thank you for your posts - when ever I am having a bad day at work I look forward to reading your comments - They are hilarious! I actually laugh out loud - better than a comic strip.

And no I am not Russian - I am Hungarian. Had relatives fight the Communists in the 1956 uprising- many did not escape and were never heard from again.

The day after the Minsk Accords were signed, Boris Johnson flew to Ukraine and threatened Z-Man’s cut of the laundry money and Z-Man reneged.

Period.

and every one of those post was correct, btw that's what upsets you so much

You wouldn't know reality if you were clubbed you with a lead pipe full of it! Nothing that you have said ever upsets me because I know exactly what to expect from you each and every time. Six months after Zelensky and his globo-homo pals have fled the country and are living the good life abroad with $Billions of US taxpayer dollars... you will still be posting the same crap. That is why I say send the bill to Canada!

You can't get rich doing that.

Tough choice for Little Vloddy - secret bank accounts and swank villas all over the world in exchange for hundreds of thousands of dead Ukrainian young men, young women and old guys.

Some are Russian influence operators and some are thoroughly demoralized once conservatives.

For younger people there is also “vice signalling”. The joy coming from being loudly disagreeable no different from the radical women bragging about having another abortion or gays being as offensive as possible in their parade.

All to offend normal people.

Ukraine looks to be surrendering in the spring.
Peace plan to be handed to Russia in spring | Volodymyr Zelenskyy holding news conference
https://news.sky.com/story/ukraine-russia-war-latest-zelenskyy-gives-update-on-peace-plan-with-russia-half-of-western-arms-deliveries-delayed-12541713
Answering a question about support, he says Ukraine cannot lose the “diplomatic initiative” and he hopes a peace summit will be held in Switzerland in the spring.
As a result of the summit, he says there will be a peace plan prepared with Ukraine's partners and then handed over to Russia.
He says he would like a second summit to be held but not in Europe and he hopes more information will be available in the “next few weeks or months”.

31,000 per Zelenski…so multiply by 10, over 300,000 dead. Plus at least that many wounded, maimed, traumatized or captured. Horrific.

I’m no buying the Uke self reporting numbers. Their numbers for the Russkis are probably a little high, but more believable.

Russia has definitely had horrible losses. It has failed in its objectives. It cannot take Ukraine as a whole and certainly cannot fight NATO.

That doesn’t mean Ukraine has any chance of winning. None. It cannot recover the eastern provinces nor Crimea. Russia has the momentum now and will push that for the foreseeable future.

This is a meatgrinder unwinnable by either side. Make peace now, it’s already a year late. Cede the Donetsk and Crimea, end the war, declare Ukraine a neutral buffer state. Keep Ukraine armed and strong to prevent further Russian aggression. Done.

Yeah, last estimates i saw from Lt.Col.MacGregar weeks ago were about 180,000 dead. Zelensky/Pedo/Nato are killing almost all Ukrainian men.

Surrendering doesn’t solve anything

There’s no peace, because Russia will just invade again in 3-5 years, after it’s rebuilt its forces

Might as well keep fighting Russia NOW, while it’s bogged-down and weakened

There will be no surrender, that just a Russian fantasy

The old domino theory. Why did Russia wait 33 years after the fall of the Soviet Union to start conquering the world? Globohomos are paranoid, lying liars.
