Former President Donald Trump is well on his way to easily locking up the GOP presidential nomination for the third straight time, but attendees at the Conservative Political Action Conference were split over who should join his ticket.
Biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem tied as the top pick among CPAC goers in the veepstakes with 15% apiece, according to a straw poll at the grassroots event.
Former Hawaii Democrat Rep. Tulsi Gabbard came next with 9% support, followed by Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) and House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY) at 8% each.
Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) scored 7%, Arizona Senate hopeful Kari Lake notched 6%, while Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson each nabbed 5%.
DeSantis has ruled out serving as Trump’s VP.

I pick Blackburn over Lake.
I like Rand Paul. Then do as Emperor Palpatine did, and dissolve the Senate.
He'd be eager to dust it up, both with the Dims and with the lefty media.
Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders is also my first choice.
I trust her core Conservatism, instinctively.
No one else has my 100% political trust - not even Trump.
NO. FEMALES. EVER.
Rand Paul ... period ...
We’re all just guessing. Put anyone on the national stage and look out. Anything could happen....as in another Pence.
Best advice is for the candidate to have as few ties to the GOPe & the Swamp as possible.
He's not getting the office back. We might not make it to that point. We should be organizing locally when the power grid fails and the water turns to fentanyl. But none of you see that as a possibility. But that is why they are HERE. NOW.
I like Sanders too. I am curious as to why her name never comes up. Maybe because she appears to be disengaged from the election?
no clue about the broad, but the fact the Forehead is even being considered is a turn off to me...
It’s straw poll… take it FWIW….
LOL! But I agree..:.
No and no.
Anyone Trump picks will be hauled in for questioning, brought up on charges but the likes of f Willis
Noem will fold
I don’t think its “could be”. She is. She voted to let the boys shower with the girls. Trump won’t pick her. There seems to be questions about Vivek’s constitutional eligibility. Trump doesn’t need that.
I think Elise Stephanik is the strongest one I’ve seen. DeSantis and Sanders won’t run. Scott and Carson is weak. They’ll both bend and probably break under RINO pressure.
Stephanik is young, no known physical ailments or scandals. I vote for her.
Haley’s the obvious choice, in all reality.
I wouldn’t be surprised.
I agree with you but if Trump’s going to push that button it should be Stephanik or Lake and under no circumstances Noem.
Larry Elder would be a good choice other than age.
VIVEK’S worldview is not compatible with the U.S. Constitution. The U.S. Constitution declares “All men are created equal.”
Hindus believe in sects. The one he belongs to persecutes Christians in India.
Yep way too many people are falling for his con.
