In recent weeks, Russian state media and online accounts tied to the Kremlin have spread and amplified misleading and incendiary content about U.S. immigration and border security. The campaign seems crafted to stoke outrage and polarization before the 2024 election for the White House, and experts who study Russian disinformation say Americans can expect more to come as Putin looks to weaken support for Ukraine and cut off a vital supply of aid.
In social media posts, online videos and stories on websites, these accounts misstate the impact of immigration, highlight stories about crimes committed by immigrants, and warn of dire consequences if the U.S. doesn’t crack down at its border with Mexico. Many are misleading, filled with cherry-picked data or debunked rumors.
The pivot toward the United States comes after two years in which Russia’s vast disinformation apparatus was busy pushing propaganda and disinformation about its invasion of Ukraine. Experts who study how authoritarian states use the internet to spread disinformation say eroding support for Ukraine remains Russia’s top priority — and that the Kremlin is just finding new ways to do it.
Many posts highlight crimes allegedly committed by recent immigrants or suggest migrants are a burden on local communities. Some claims were posted by accounts with tiny audiences; others were made by state media sites with millions of followers.

You win a war by supplying the invaded country with all the material it can use as quickly as possible. There will be no “peace” otherwise.
And yes it does directly affect the US as when Ukraine falls, the Baltics and Poland are next which means US troops will have to fight Russia directly. Is that what you want?

Germany in 1939 was a teeming country with a massive birth rate. They literally would have starved without food imports. Hitler wrote about living space and his plan to gain it.
Russia today literally has a dying population. They have 100s of towns becoming abandoned their population is declining so much.
From a military standpoint it makes no sense. A combined NATO would be even stronger than Ukraine. You pro-Ukraine types (and I’m not saying that in an insulting way) can’t have it BOTH ways:
1. Russia is bled white and they have lost 1000s of tanks, arty, vehicles and aircraft. We just need to send them more money and they win
2. Russia is almost done with the easy conquest of Ukraine so watch out because the rest of the world is next.

This is a close second to the dumbest talking point about the war between Russia and the Ukraine:
"All Putin has to do is go home."
Send all the illegal U.S. border crossers to Russia. They’d be spaced too far apart in those vast steppes to do too much damage, they’re used to crappy living conditions, and they’d reproduce like rabbits.
The Donald could make it happen (win-win).

You have an excellent example of the self proclaimed smartest people in the room completely misreading the situation. The House Republicans were always going to demand their pound of flesh for authorizing Ukraine aid, their opening bid was anti-corruption measures IIRC.
It was the choice of either the White House or senate democrats to combine Ukraine aid with the border. This in turn means that Republicans determine what acceptable border security measures are.
One of the saddest pieces of this sad saga was Zelensky being trotted out to try and persuade Republicans to vote for the bill, when he cannot produce any deliverables that the majority of House Republicans care about.
Since we KNOW, absolutely without a doubt know, that the US and the Brits purposely ran a coup in Ukraine, and provoked Russia into war. Twisted the world into a spin over actual CIA spying on a presidential candidate, AND the elected POTUS. It is time to shut it all down. Take the CIA, FBI Homeland Security and dismantle it. Throw Obama, Brennan, Comey, AG Bill Barr et al in the hoosegow. NOTHING but a complete restructuring of the US will do. Step back into 1860 and allow the States to exercise their Rights, and so much more. Why keep on terrorizing the world in so many places? Shut it all down, and bow out of NATO and the UN.
