Airline passengers getting bumped as asylum-seekers vie for standby seats

It’s not even 4 a.m. and the line to get through security at McAllen International Airport is backing up on Tuesday morning.

Among the travelers, asylum-seeking migrants hoping to get on flights by purchasing standby tickets.

Ahead of the Transportation Security Administration’s checkpoint, Border Patrol agents screen the migrants by taking their photos and checking documents to ensure that none is trying to board flights illegally.

Joel Cavazos, 43, is a music distributor executive who lives in Los Angeles and the Rio Grande Valley.

On Friday, he was trying to fly to L.A. with his partner and their 6-month-old daughter, Raza, when he was bumped from an American Airlines flight at McAllen International Airport.

He ended up missing an important business meeting and said he wasn’t aware, nor told by the airlines, that he should have been at the airport hours before the flight.

He flies frequently — at least twice a month — and said he wasn’t able to check in via the airline’s mobile app. He says he got to the airport an hour ahead of the flight’s departure, but by the time he got through the TSA checkpoint — with 30 minutes until the flight — he was told by a gate agent that he’d been bumped.

“No. They weren’t polite at all. The initial response was, ‘You missed your flight. We gave your ticket to someone else.’ If you’re not here in time, if you don’t check in within 45 minutes, you lose your flight,'” he told Border Report. “(The American Airlines employee) said, ‘We gave your seat.’ She said we don’t have anymore. We gave it to someone else that was on standby.”

Sorry, he didn’t fly a discounter. He flew AA. That explains most of it.

Biden is giving all of these ( false) asylum seekers documents that allow them to stay in the country wherever they want to be until they are called for an immigration hearing years in the future. These people are no longer undocumented as to being in the country because of the Democrats. It is outrageous and disgusting

They may have brought no personal documents to the border, perhaps throwing them away just before crossing because they had to use them to fly from whatever country they came from, but they do have documents that allow them to be in the USA. It is so outrageous.

We should at least do and keep a fingerprint and a DNA test of every person coming across the border with no personal documents.

So there are lots of government union employees at the airport on the clock, checking ID’s for Americans and checking mystery paperwork for illegals. Sounds like a make-work program. Good thing the feds can keep printing money to fund all of these programs.

People are depending on the listed flight Departure Time, when they should pay attention to the Boarding Time, which is often 30 to 45 minutes earlier, for a domestic flight. Show up two hours early for a domestic flight and you won’t be bumped. This isn’t an illegal taking your seat issue. There are plenty of travelers on Standby who are legal citizens.

"An American Airlines spokesperson told Border Report that the airline does not track the number of asylum-seekers who buy tickets..."

I'm voting BS on that. Even though the Newcomers are "paying" for their tickets...I'd bet there's some additional reimbursement from FedGov. AA would naturally need to know who the illegals are to get their FedGov dollars. At the very least, the Newcomers are paying with a FedGov-issued card. It would be easy for AA you sort on the payment column of a flight.

This seems to be a variation on what some foreign countries do. In Saudi Arabia illegal aliens have first priority on flights, domestic and international. They’ll bump Saudis and Westerners alike. I think they bump by last checked in. Difference is these illegals are deportees only. They take them to the airport in a cage on the back of a flatbed truck. Saw it a few times.

Lucky for the Dems the American people have endless patience and boundless compassion for paying billions in taxes and quietly accepting vicious crimes by illegals.🌷🌷🌷🌷

And conservatives are always ready to turn the other cheek and love thy neighbor.☮️

Or there would be anti-immigrant riots as many times in history.

“What documents? We keep reading that they have no documents. We read not long ago that their main paper is a “parole” document from the government after being released and that is permissible ID.”

Arrest warrants work (I wish i was joking).

The Feds are not who funds these illegals. Has to be tax money which means we, the taxpaying citizens, are funding this abomination.
