CAIRO (Reuters) -Ships will have to obtain a permit from Yemen's Houthi-controlled Maritime Affairs Authority before entering Yemeni waters, Houthi Telecommunications Minister Misfer Al-Numair said on Monday.

Houthi militants have repeatedly launched drones and missiles against international commercial shipping in the Gulf of Aden since mid-November, saying they are acting in solidarity with Palestinians against Israel's offensive in Gaza.

Blazing Saddles is fantastic. I was just watching Slim yesterday in Dr Strangelove.

What happened to the Barbary Pirates?

This group sounds like they are trying a replay of what the Barbary Pirates did in the Mediterranean. The only thing missing is slavery, but come to think of it, slavery is prevalent in Muslim countries. All was done for the cause of spreading Islam.

Thomas Jefferson took the matter into his own hands and used the US Marines to settle the matter.

You know, “From the shores of Tripoli.”

Months of perpetual escalation out of Teheran while you were posting endlessly of US/Israel escalation.

I think carpet bombing might solve the problem.

Here is the problem.

You could solve the Houthi problem by killing Abi Jibril and his brothers.

But to do so, you have to understand that this is exactly what requires "immunity" as the President acting on behalf of the US. So few people genuinely understand this. We, as Americans, are consigned together in eliminating non-American state targets in defense of American armed forces, American civilians, and American interests.

This requires an invigorated President who can persuade the world that this was done to remove those few. Trump did it, Obama fwiw pulled it off after Bin Laden.

Biden, however, can no. longer. assertively. forcefully. communicate. our privilege, our right to extend this extraordinary power.

This has left Jake Sullivan stuck with his thumb up his azz pressed between Kerry's Iranian sycophancy (raise your hand if you think Kerry is half-a-Muslim or has recited the shahada *spit* in front of someone who was able to communicate that to his Iranian superiors), versus both the USN and critical American and free world trade shipping interests.

In other words, I acknowledge and warn of escalation from both sides while you pimp only the admin narrative. Yes, you’ve finally gotten something correct. Good job! Build on that by looking at both sides rather than letting the administration continue to use you naïveté.

Unfortunately, short of nuking them, DC has shot its wad with no effect. American (all nation’s) gunboat diplomacy is kaput.

DC has two options left, nuke them or get a bunch of American boys killed by sending in the Marines.

A bunch of rag tag irregulars shooting off a $10,000 missile a day have completely defeated a hundred billion dollars worth of Western naval assets. Over the last ten years the same bunch has defeated $50 billion worth of Western supplied air power. If we send in troops and armor, most likely that would be defeated by their cheap drones. A trillion a year funneled to the MIC and this is what we’ve bought for the modern battlefield.

Take a look at what Western supplied air power has been able to do to this sandal wearing, pick up driving adversary in the last ten years. Unless you’re advocating dropping a bunch of nukes, your solution has already been tried.

Miraculously, that’s all it takes to defeat a trillion dollar navy. Imagine what Iran or China could do with no navy to speak of (let’s pretend the Chicom subs don’t exist).

The Houthis don’t get paid other than getting more $10,000 missiles. The people who are laughing are the MIC oligarchs who take trillions and give us forces that these “clowns” have defeated. The citizens of the world who rely on the shipping lanes are the ones who are crying.

Yep. That sounds like a very successful blockade. Frankly, I’m stunned that the Houthis have been to accomplish this.
