No Labels Considering Georgia Republican Geoff Duncan to Lead ‘Unity’ Presidential Ticket
WSJ ^ | 3.8.2024 | Cameron McWhirter

The centrist group No Labels is considering picking Geoff Duncan, the Republican former lieutenant governor of Georgia, to lead a “unity” presidential ticket, people familiar with the discussions said.

The group’s delegates voted Friday to press forward with its efforts to field an independent presidential ticket, based on the idea that voters want an alternative to President Biden and former President Donald Trump, but didn’t name any candidates.

Some prominent politicians who had been on the group’s radar—including Republicans Nikki Haley and Larry Hogan and Democrat Joe Manchin—have ruled out making presidential bids. If No Labels can’t succeed in recruiting sufficiently high-profile candidates, that could drain enthusiasm among delegates for moving forward with an independent ticket, according to people familiar with its discussions.

Duncan didn’t respond to calls for comment Friday.

“No Labels hasn’t yet chosen a ticket and any names floating around are being put out there by someone else,” Ryan Clancy, the group’s chief strategist, said in a statement Friday.

Duncan, 48 years old, served as Georgia’s lieutenant governor from 2019 to early 2023. He was elected to office alongside Republican Gov. Brian Kemp. Because Duncan doesn’t have a big national profile, it would likely take considerable effort and money to introduce him to voters around the country.

Considering this candidate will pretty much spend the whole time bashing trump how does this not hurt Biden?

You gotta admire their chutzpah—claiming they are for transparent government and democracy while having a cabal choose their candidate in secrecy.

Bonus: Their donors are secret as well.

“The centrist group No Labels...”

We already have one, it’s called the GOPe/uniparty. Fortunately Trump has knocked them out for a minimum of four years.

This is the beauty of third party candidates—they get coverage on the mass media which Trump supporters do not believe or trust.

The only people who trust or believe the mass media are Biden supporters or potential Biden supporters.

That means that the attacks on President Trump just lure folks who would not vote for President Trump into voting for the third party instead of Biden.

This is perfect stuff—and that is why the sharp Democratic political operatives are freaked about third parties of any kind.

The only one I can see who's truly in the middle, rather than just another let's see how long we can keep the con running, is former Democrat Tulsi Gabbard

The Democratic activists think it is a secret plot by Trump supporters to lure anti-Trump voters away from Biden.

They could be correct.

There was one big donor who gave money both to President Trump and RFK Jr.—he obviously sees the situation the same way I do.

The rank and file “No Labels” supporters are just useful idiots who would never support President Trump—and would vehemently deny they are doing anything to help get him elected.

Stupid should hurt.

Lol.

>> Pure desperation.

... plus it appears they’ve drunk the same “my truth” insanity kool-aid that the progressives are drinking (and selling) these days.
