Former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández was convicted Friday in New York of charges that he conspired with drug traffickers and used his military and national police force to enable tonnes of cocaine to make it unhindered into the US.
The jury returned its verdict at a federal court after a two-week trial, which has been closely followed in his home country. Hernández was convicted of conspiring to import cocaine into the US and two weapons counts. The charges carry a mandatory minimum of 40 years in prison and a potential maximum of life. Sentencing was set for 26 June.
Hernández, 55, served two terms as the leader of Honduras, a nation of roughly 10 million people.
This is where the foreign leaders differ from those in our current administration even though they mesh so well. Foreign dictators sell the drugs while the Bidens just use them. To Joe, that’s real diplomacy.

If a country’s intelligence apparatus, say, something like the CIA, was involved in drug smuggling, could the leader of that nation be arrested and convicted? Asking for a friend.
I wonder what would happen to Juan if they ever found out he took chicom bribes.

Uh, no. Hernández could only use his influence to get the cocaine up to our border. The do-nothing U.S. Congress is responsible for letting the smugglers get across the border, and into our country.
One step closer to the big showdown where Obama and Hillary, and all their other people, are brought to justice for treason and crimes against humanity.
When will the US arrest president Xi for the fentanyl made in the PRC and coming here?
What about US politicians or bureaucrats involved in gun running and where the cartel got their hands on high power weapons, lots of them? When will they stand trail in Mexico?
Even after J6, Epstein, HRC’s home server, Hunters laptop, so called insurrection and sedition charges... folks still “believe” there is some validity to these trials. When will folks realize all these sort of trials (at that level) are political maneuvers with ulterior motives? They are the definition of a kangaroo court: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kangaroo_court
How exactly would that work? How could the U.S. arrest the leader of a sovereign nation?
And if the U.S. arrested him while he was here for some diplomatic purpose, pretty much everyone in the world would be against us, and it would be as much as a declaration of war.
How did the President of Honduras end up in a US prison and US federal court, standing trial for breaking US federal laws?

Thanks, Hunter, but is there not a rehabilitation facility that you are in need of reporting to?
My Wikipedia is broken. But I wonder if he’ll be sharing a cell with his brother, the former president, who is serving a life term for the same thing.
