Europe calls to prepare for US withdrawal from NATO after Trump's return

ATO diplomats believe that Europe needs to prepare for a possible US withdrawal from the alliance if Donald Trump returns to the White House.

The prospect of Trump's return to power after the US election is raising concerns in Europe about continued US support for Ukraine and NATO allies. According to The Telegraph, diplomats in NATO countries believe that European capitals need to prepare a plan and review their current defense capabilities.

One European diplomat told The Telegraph that Trump's controversial statements, including his refusal to help allies in the event of a Russian attack, are "a concern."

"Nobody knows what he's going to do next," the diplomat said, adding that NATO countries should develop a scenario to reduce the alliance's dependence on the United States.

A diplomat from another NATO country said that countries like Britain should take even more of a lead in European security, as a possible U.S. withdrawal from NATO would create a "massive gap."

"The president cannot unilaterally revoke a treaty"

Well, the president can sure as hell not send troops when the feckless NATO bureaucrats inevitably write checks that their countries cannot cash. It is essentially the same thing as "Yes we are married but I am never home because I am sleeping with someone else and you can pay your own bills."

If NATO doesn't like it they can piss off.

Reagan would want nothing to do with today’s NATO. Thanks for playing.

You have to get past living in the 80’s., catch up.
An alliance that is dependent on one member is worthless. The rest of NATO needs to grow up, put on their big boy pants, and learn stand in their own two feet.

Its all the Brussels’ EU oligarch Euro-trash “elites” scam to solidify a united Europe and crush national sovereignty.

But....WTF do I know?

Hey you know that Brussels is the Capital, so to speak, of the EU. That's probably better than 80% of Americans.

The Elites think this type of rhetoric will get Americans to support NATO. Most Americans don't know/don't care about NATO and their lives wouldn't be changed one bit if NATO disappeared tomorrow.

Yes. In lieu of forming their own navies, EU countries could each pay $100 billion per year for US navy protection of their merchant shipping.

No Western Mainstream Media Newspaper will ever help America or President Trump bring the NATO Globalist under control.

The defense obligation is not that much of GDP.

Maybe Europe isn’t interested in having their civilization anymore.

Their leaders certainly seem to act this way, letting barbarians in to kill their people.

Europe’s death has to be one of the strangest in history.

It’s as if they just decided one day that they needed to die.

Probably not, but it still wouldn’t stop him from speaking out about how much of a waste of time and money NATO is.

When NATO was created this was a world of vast oceans and land masses where considerations for war were much more ‘local.’ We don’t have that world anymore. Those vast oceans and land masses have been reduced to mere flight-time minutes. We just don’t need Europe anymore, let them defend themselves.

Great news. A lot of these UN countries don’t care about the US. They only care about checks from the taxpayers and their ability to grift. Let them handle their own affairs and clean up their own backyard mess. The US has more than enough domestic issues to deal with without going out and continually taking on more and more crap while other members blow-off their own responsibilities. We aren’t (or shouldn’t be) the world’s police and janitors. And we need to turn off ALL foreign aid as well unless it is part of an actual negotiated and congressionally approved treaty with another nation. Short of that, sorry, bank is closed and countries can devote their own resources for alphabet acceptance junk if they think it is a worthwhile expense of their limited budgets after meeting all of their other expenses.

The president cannot unilaterally revoke a treaty

The treaty dissolves if the participants fail to abide by the terms. The NATO nations have violated the terms by not contributing 2% of their GDP x 75 years (+/-)

So enjoy the SUCK.
