The Canadian government is proposing a bill that would raise the maximum punishment for online hate speech from five years to a life sentence.
The proposal forms part of the latest Online Harms Bill, put forward by Justin Trudeau's left-wing government, which seeks to its assert control over online discourse:
The National Post reports:
"Bill C-63 aims to force social-media, user-uploaded adult content and live-streaming services to reduce exposure to online content deemed harmful, to strengthen the reporting of child pornography and to better address hate propaganda and provide recourse to victims of hate online.
"It also amends the Criminal Code to create a new standalone hate crime offence that would allow penalties up to life imprisonment to deter hateful conduct, as well as raise the maximum punishments for hate propaganda offences from five years to life imprisonment for advocating genocide."
Some of those provisions, including a clampdown on child pornography and other adult content, are obviously noble causes. Yet it is the definition of what the government calls "hate propaganda" that should cause all conservatives concern.

Sounds like the Canadian government should go to prison for life. It solve a lot of problems.
I’m going round and round with Instagram right now. They
are removing a lot of my posts, and most of them are not
out of line at all. I’ve writen out detailed responses
to Leftist tripe, and they call it trying to develop
followers. I allow very few people to follow me. Right
now I have 44 followers, and haven’t added any in recent
times.
I get warning after warning about not treating others
fair, but I only respond in kind. If someone insults me
I respond with zingers of my own.
The other day they threatened to delete my account over
something that was not worthy of it.
I mention all this, because once these Leftist concerns
start labeling our stuff “hate speech” it will be
impossible to refute it.
I’m having a hard time getting any kind of dialogue
going with staff regarding my deleted posts and threats
to cut off my account.
I hardly ever got a warning, but then about a month
ago they started going after 50% of my posts. It was
like a rogue employee had focused on me and wanted to
see me gone.
It won’t surprise me if they delete my account soon so
I won’t be able to counter Leftists on Instagram until
after the election.
“Hate speech” is winning an argument against the wrong person.
This is why I tell people that white leftists are my worst enemy.
And this enables non-white leftists to attack whatever they please.
And then to hades.
Just like Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union.
Might as well just kill the people you hate then, since the sentence won’t be any harsher than simply speaking your own mind freely.
Why not a death sentence? Go ahead, kill them. You know that’s what you really want to do. Just one more small step…

Free-speech is under assault like never before. These people are absolute tyrants and will kill us as soon as they get the chance. They are literally the purpose of the second amendment.
It didn’t take long for Canada to go from “mostly harmless” to Cuba jr.
