Mission Creep: Will Pier Become A Beachhead For US In Gaza?
Responsible Statecraft ^ | 3/13/24 | Kelly Beuacar Vlahos

The Pentagon’s plan for floating piers and a causeway to surge humanitarian aid into Gaza is drawing fire from military experts for its lack of detail, potential danger to U.S. troops, and risk of mission creep. Bottom line, it’s a bit of a head-scratcher.

“Biden is committing the United States military to conducting a highly complex, very expensive, low-production operation to bring food into the strip — when Biden could massively increase the amount of food into the strip with far less effort or expense: demand that Israel merely open the damn gates and roll the hundreds of trucks awaiting entry right now. Today,” exclaimed (Ret.) Lt. Col. Daniel Davis, senior fellow at Defense Priorities, in an exchange with RS.

“This is an absurd idea, on so many levels,” Davis added.

The Jerusalem Post reported that a senior Israeli diplomatic source said the plan was based on a proposal for a maritime route to Gaza via Cyprus for humanitarian assistance initiated by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in collaboration with Biden on October 22, 2023.

Was this Netanyahu’s idea? If so, it raises many questions about why?

there is no shortage of food in Gaza district

other than that created by Hamas stealing most of the free food we’ve been sending (and then selling it for high prices to their “own” Arab people)

when the IDF eliminates the last of Hamas, both food prices and the Fakestinian Occupation of the district will ameliorate appreciably

Why are we providing aid and comfort to the enemy? Because Genocide Joe doesn’t want to lose Michigan.

Despite Biden’s negative impacts, I believe the IDF will clean up the Hamas terrorist problem in Gaza before any such (insane!) pier is even attempted

which is probably is why Bibi is being so tactful about it

Import food to Gaza, and on the return trip import Gazans to the US...a “Gaza-gap” operation? Biden may shore up US HAMAS supporters with a reason to support Biden in November.

this is far from unthinkable.

The beachhead in Gaza will become a coffin trap after Hamas or some other group launches rockets, drones or suicide bombers at the soldiers just like in Beirut when Reagan was POTUS and a bunch of young Americans will be killed

Don’t say this out loud, but the Pier is going to make a swell target for Houthis or some other rag-tag bunch. We do stupid things because we are ruled by madmen.

Those slow boats the army is sailing to gaza better enjoy fair weather on this joy cruise. High seas just might put them on the bottom of the Atlantic. Looks like platform boats instead of real seaworthy vessels.
Oh it’s just the ocean, what could go wrong?/S

How do you people not see that it will be used to evacuate the Gazans to the US and Europe?

I feel like I am in a movie where I’m the only one who can recognize the elephant in the room.

Why are we building Israel another port? Don’t they have enough already?

The pier more and more is beginning to look like a Normandy mulberry to me. A mulberry for the same purposes as in ‘44.

They are getting ready to send them to America. Israel wants them gone, nobody in the middle east will take them. Just watch. Israel doesn’t want them departing through Israeli ports. Egypt will not let them in to use their ports. So we are building an evacuation port.

This is a point of exit, NOT a point of entry for food. There is no need for that. But there is a need for a port of exit.

And as in Gaza what did we do with the PLO trapped by Israelis? We sailed away with them to Tunisia or somewhere. This time they are coming to America as part of the great replacememt.

In Squadron Officer School, Air Command & Staff College and Air War College, we read paper after paper about the dangers of mission creep and how to guard against it. Now it appears to be national defense policy to incorporate mission creep into every action.

How many Hamas terrorists are we going to import when Biden announces we are taking an unlimited number of Gaza residents into America

Are you suggesting that Israel is currently having a hard time suppressing Hamas military activity and that by invading from the pier, they would have more success?

I think that is wrong on a number of fronts.

1) They are completely dominating them. They are taking no casualties and turning Gaza into rubble.

2) The northern areas are almost entirely evacuated. They could move troops into there easily. The area where the pier is going is highly populated.

It would make a lot more sense that they are going to continue to decimate Gaza, push the Palestinians into that corner and then force/encourage/scare/etc.. them onto boats to be relocated.

Then the territory is all Israel’s to do with whatever they want.

Why is this so hard to figure out?

Do you think Israel doesn’t want the whole territory?
Do you think the US wouldn’t allow 2 million 3rd world savages into the country?
Do you think our government isn’t entirely controlled by Israel to do whatever they want?
