Two possibilities:

(1) If Biden stays on the ticket, they realize that people are going to be looking at the vice-presidential candidates much more closely than usual (because of Biden's age and dementia) — that is, the VP candidate will matter for a change. So changing running mate could help Biden.

(2) If Biden doesn't stay on the ticket, they don't want any serious thought given to running Kamala Harris for president in his place. They know that she would lose in the general.

If Harris indeed resigned there would be no approved replacement by the current congress.

The article isn't talking about Harris resigning from the Vice Presidency. It is talking about her withdrawal from the 2024 Democratic ticket (from the article):

And for those people worried about how she can be forced to walk away given her intersectionality (quasi-black, Asian, female), there are ways.

Given that Kamala is a dud, much behind the scenes pressure can be brought to bear to coerce her to resign in a way that makes it look like her idea.

In fact, if she doesn't drop from the ticket, Hillary can arrange a crippling or even fatal disease.

She will hide in the White House, read the speeches given to her, smile and laugh. She will select Hillary as her VP. and not run for re-election her fortune made. Hillary will run.

everyone needs to face facts. Heels up Harris was only chosen for one reason and one reason only.

She was a black woman.

That’s it, period. She is an unlikeable moron and totally unqualified to run a lemonaid stand, much less the US. With Biden about to keel over any day, it becomes a larger and larger issue.
