A very stupid column. This is never going to happen given the current state of affairs. If Harris indeed resigned there would be no approved replacement by the current congress. That would mean speaker Johnson would be next in line should Biden suddenly no longer be POTUS. You think the dims don’t know that? Now after the November elections no doubt things can change but for now Harris is going to be vp period.
Maybe a few more Republicans resign, retire or get thrown out of the House and Nancy or Hakeem become Speaker.
