New York Attorney General takes initial step to prepare to seize Trump assets

(CNN) — The New York attorney general’s office has filed judgments in Westchester County, the first indication that the state is preparing to try to seize Donald Trump’s golf course and private estate north of Manhattan, known as Seven Springs.

State lawyers entered the judgments with the clerk’s office in Westchester County on March 6, just one week after Judge Arthur Engoron made official his $464 million decision against Trump, his sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, and the Trump Organization.

Judgments have not been entered in Florida counties including Miami or Palm Beach where Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property and the Trump National Doral Golf Club and resort are located or Cook County, Illinois, where Trump’s hotel in Chicago is located, according to a review of records Thursday by CNN.

**But Trump was found guilty of overstating the value of his properties**

Please remember one thing. ALL OF THE CHARGES ARE MADE UP, LIES, to get him.. It’s not based on reality .. It’s their made up list.
The value of his property, as stated in the news, they took issue with.. Of course they did.. They are after anything. It’s still based on their lies. They have judges who will find for them.
Do you all understand what they are doing. They are using all depts of the gov, to destroy the one man who can stop them. They have one individual who knows how to do this.. How to be the demon and do what a man with a conscience would not do.

They are high on power.. Nothing is off limits.

It’s time to ask God to save our nation from the power elite.. They are way past any sense..
And Trump needs all our help.. And God’s.

I wish I had paid better attention, but if a city banned handguns, do the people go to state courts first or do they go to federal court because it's a 2nd amendment violation?

I know that a general rule of thumb for Federal courts is that appellants in state cases must pursue legal remedies in state courts first.

Even if the amount of the judgment violates the 8th amendment?

Can’t the Supreme Court put an end to all this madness?

The amount of the judgement doesn’t mean anything unless the state actually collects on it.

A client of mine was involved in a civil lawsuit a few years ago where many of the details of the case were somewhat similar to this one. In that case, the initiation of a foreclosure action by the other party triggered all kinds of legal bedlam that put him in a very favorable position. He eventually won the case, and through his countersuit was awarded a sizable judgement.

Trump doesn’t even own Trump Tower anymore, it has his name but he only owns one unit inside, the rest are condos which other people own..so this evil b*tch cannot take away other people’s property they are legal owners and have nothing to do with any of this

I am not sure, but when it comes to legal procedures I believe there’s an important distinction between a city banning handguns and a city actually trying to seize yours.

She doesn’t have jurisdiction to touch any properties outside of New York right..so she can take Trump tower or anything else in New York and thats it

Makes you wonder if Trump is sly as a fox. Does he really want the NY properties? He already moved out of NY to much greener pastures in Florida. If she takes the properties, then Trump wins on appeal, NY state will be in a heap of financial trouble.

There was NO CRIME. Why are they allowing to this continue???

And yet, he was convicted without a trial. He lost on summary judgement. My understanding of summary judgement (jump in here Freeper lawyers) is that the judge can award to the plaintiff, if there are no facts in dispute and the facts are in favor of the plaintiff. Yet, the unqualified judge ruled that Mar-a-Lago was only worth $18 million. If that wasn't a fact in dispute, I don't know what is.

If there are any responsible leaders left in NY they better rein in this nitwit before she costs the state not only Trump’s legal fees, but tens of$millions in damages as well. The fallout from these reckless actions will be decided in Federal court, and they might not get to choose the judge and jury this time.

seizing the AG would be far more appropriate...

Exactly true. The entire condo owner’s group could counter sue (including Trump in their suit) against illegal seizure. NY State would LOSE. Big Time. Value of Trump’s condo in the tower he built— he could get 3 to 4 times the value back from successful suit of illegal seizure. This AG is a an emotionally unstable and quite STUPID apparatchik. And NY State is run by fools. Drivelling fools. Hochul on top- and what a clown she is as well.

We need a Republican Hit List-—not a blood-bath mind you. The nut case liberals, relatives names and we can use those new tools the liberals are giving us.

They usually only seize property that would be easy to sell fairly quickly. Trump’s plane is fairly old by luxury aircraft standards, and it’s too big to get into many airports. It can’t use Teterboro, where most NYC billionaires park their planes, because the runway is too short.

The way the case was constructed, she can seize anything that is licensed or LLC in NY under the Trump Organization, regardless of where it’s physically located, and can even get into Trump’s private trust.

To be clear, I did not mean that foreign judgements are not enforceable. But that they judgements need to be correct as to the form and content as stipulated by a state.

This is pretty amazing. Some liberal friends at work are ecstatic and each headline sends them higher and higher into what can best be described as a high.

One person forwarded one of the updates to someone who then complained to HR, and HR made it clear (and has a consistent policy) that work email is for work. That person received a verbal warning about sending non-work related email.

Tell me it doesn't affect the willingness of the bonding companies to commit. Litigious James/Engoron could invent more "crimes" or "violations" after they paid the current figure.
