If they want to see violence against “immigrants” they should visit the Dominican Republican border with Haiti.
The Dominicans shoot everything that moves—no lawyers, no camps, no hotel rooms—just bullets.
The violent effects are increased drugs, human trafficking, gangs and cartels murdering people willy nilly, jihadists and chicoms pouring across an unsecured border.
One such story is that some cultures in their raw state just do not do well in close proximity. It seems natural that a responsible government would strive to blend only reasonably compatible cultures.

250,000 years of migration has caused countless genocides and cultural erasures.
Or so they say, in considering what the Europeans did to the Native Americans.
Maybe controlled borders and required documents could prevent future genocides. It’s worth a try.
For most of that 250,000 years, the world had a tiny human population. The population only reached 1 billion in the early 1800s. Human migration until a couple of hundred years ago involved small numbers of migrants and vast uninhabited territory, but with 8 billion humans now inhabiting the earth, the more affluent nations must protect their own interests or they will be overwhelmed and eventually turned into the Third World failures the migrants left behind.
No rational comparison of migration today with migration throughout most of human history.
