The state of Michigan is reportedly pushing a program offering citizens $500 a month to take in migrants.
The program, called the Newcomer Rental Subsidy, is set to provide shelter outside state shelters for “refugees.” The assistance would be available to homeowners for up to a year, according to MLive.com.
According to the state, those eligible include, refugees, asylees, special immigration visa holders, victims of human trafficking, Cuban and Haitian entrants, Afghan nationals, and Ukrainian humanitarian parolees.

I think that might even apply down here in Louisiana. But I would take 5,000 a month as long as I can move out to another place, with a minimum lease of 2 years guaranteed by payment in full up front.🤣

Will your car be seized if a “guest” carries illegal drugs?
Who pays when your daughter is raped?
If they get sick you’ll have to get them healthcare—they have no insurance.

Yep. This goes nationwide, I’m gonna conveniently forget about repairing my septic field. The plumber can just pump out the tank every few months. In that way, my house won’t qualify.
Take the $500, kill the people, and sell the meat to new Haitians…
I’m not sure that what you may be buying would be worth it.
Once Government creates a temporary program….. it becomes permanent!
Hence the reason for the Amendment just before it.

I'd more likely convert to a halfway house for $5 per month, but then I'm too smart to live there anyhoo.
However, lets just see how many Dem elected officials (from Gov Whitmer on down to the lowest local committee members) sigh up for this.
You could not pay me enough money to take in these vermin. You would have to buy me out at a hefty profit.
In short order, the homeowners will be evicted and the homes will be awarded to the trespassers by court order.
Let these leeches in and you will NEVER get them out.
Yep - maybe after two weeks, they are ‘tenants’ and cannot be removed so brokea$$ MI will stop paying and you are SOL.
I’m sure somewhere in the fine print you need to agree to a minimum time stay ... say, 24 months. And after your home and life are trashed there’s a penalty+fine for backing out. Good luck with that!
