The channel is blocked. Nothing of any size is going in or out of Baltimore Harbor for quite a while.

Excellent military maneuver the collapse blocked the entire width of the channel. If you intend to hamper the enemy's shipping routes, it could not have been done to better effect with the container vessel placed anywhere else. Yes. This was deliberate, with a lot of pre-planning.

The economic damage and traffic issues this will cause for maritime and automobile traffic will be substantial. I can’t imagine any ships will be allowed to cross where the Key Bridge was for quite some time. At least until the damage is cleaned up.

Key Bridge was an alternate route for travelers not wanting to drive I-95 through Baltimore. That’s no longer an option for at least a few years. The one thing to watch will any accidents similar to this one occur this year.
