Perhaps their insurer doesn’t have to pay death benefits out to his estate from his company paid life insurance policy if they terminated him before he could commit suicide by train.

Usually suicide invalidates life insurance policies anyway, so it wasn’t likely they would pay regardless of his employment status.

That’s what I was thinking - insurance.

And while not an admission of guilt, I think suicide after such a short period of time doesn’t make sense if he was innocent. If during a long trial and him and his lawyers beating his head against the wall - then perhaps that would be the actions of an innocent man not wanting to end up in prison.
