The project was planned in 1982, construction finally began in 1991 and concluded in December 2007. Originally projected at $2.8 billion and completion in 1998, the final cost was reckoned to to be about $24.3 billion, making it the most expensive road and bridge construction in history of the US.
Just so everybody knows and takes into consideration how much reconstructing the bridge and reopening the Baltimore harbor is going to cost. And some time element that is sure to exceed all the early expectations.
