A fire alarm led to the discovery of a large quantity of drugs in a Berkeley County woman's home.
Dietra Drayton, 40, is charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute, marijuana, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and distribution within a half-mile proximity of a school. Her arrest was announced on March 27.
On March 22, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office (BCSO), a fire alarm went off at a residence on Highland Avenue in Sangaree. Fire personnel entered the residence due to it being full of smoke. Upon clearing the house, they found several suspected narcotics.
Deputies say they responded to the residence at the request of the fire personnel. They located over 7 lbs. of various color powders that field-tested presumptive for fentanyl, approximately 400 grams of marijuana, an AR-style pistol with a 31-round extended magazine, digital scales and plastic bags, six bags of purple and yellow pills, and one blender covered in a powdery substance.
According to the BCSO, Drayton acknowledged she lived in the residence. She was taken into custody by deputies.

“ 33 is an odd number.”
Actually it’s an even number, but I get what you mean.
As far as 31 rounds goes it’s my guess that they mean 30+1, counting a round already in the chamber. Many guns advertise their capacity with the +1 round noted.
33 / 2 = 16.5
Odd number
I just looked at the posted photo and I am pretty certain that it is not an actual AR, rather it is a carbine, i.e. using a pistol round. My guess is it’s a 9mm, but it’s hard to tell exactly from the photo. It could be anything from a 22 to a 45, but it is not a 226/5.56.
Liz, do you know what that metallic thing is just to the right of the AR? Anybody?
Pill press maybe? I don’t know but it looks like a press of some sort.
I’m guessing its used to weigh out and bag the drugs.
pill press
Thanks. I knew you get an AR (10) in .308 but I wasn’t aware that it was made with any other calibers.
There are almost an infinite number of variations, limited only by availability of a magazine.
