Panicked Dems Want Sotomayor, 69, to Retire Before Trump, 77, Wins Presidency

'I would love to trade her for a 50-year-old justice...'

Leftists recently started pushing the idea that one of the Supreme Court justices, Sonia Sotomayor, should resign, so that, in case of her death, Donald Trump would not be able to appoint another conservative justice.

Paul Campos, a law professor at the University of Colorado Boulder, was one of the people who expressed this idea after remembering how Amy Coney Barrett took the place of Ruth Bader Ginsburg after her death, which resulted in the 6-3 conservative majority that then took less than two years to fully overturn Roe v. Wade.

“Sotomayor has been an outstanding justice. But the Ruth Bader Ginsburg precedent ought to be extremely sobering… The cost of her failing to be replaced by a Democratic president with a Democratic Senate would be catastrophic,” he said.

Lucas Powe Jr., a Supreme Court historian at the University of Texas at Austin, agreed with Campos.

“I would love to see Sotomayor retire. I would love to trade her for a 50-year-old justice,” he said.

However, leftists who are brainwashing the American youth with Marxist ideas were not the only ones who started saying that Sotomayor should resign. Leftist journalists at the Atlantic and Vox started pushing the same message as well.

People at the Huffington Post also wrote an article regarding the topic, in which the leftist publication noted that Sotomayor had problems with her health, obviously implying that she should leave her position.

However, there is no logical reason for Sotomayor to leave her position, considering that a 69-year-old justice is still considered young because the average retirement age for recent Supreme Court justices is in the 80s.

The fact that leftists want to replace Sotomayor becomes even more evident after looking at other Supreme Court justices — Clarence Thomas, 75, and Samuel Alito, who is about to turn 74. Despite them being older than Sotomayor, they don’t face the same political pressure to retire under Joe Biden.

1) I think she should step down.
2) I think the Senate should wait until 2025 to fill her post.

The Democrats control the senate. They're not going to wait.

I’ve said it for a bit now.

This is their plan to rally the troops.

They have control so they really can’t have a real fight as whoever they want they can appoint…

But they need the perception of a fight in order to get the aborition activists hyper riled up for November.

So, she retires late summer/early fall. They create a fight just in time for the election… but since they control the senate there is no real fight…

Already set the stage to manufacture one by having Manchin say he wouldn’t approve of someone right before the election etc.

He’s retiring so, doesn’t matter if he becomes a major enemy to the base just as long as they get the conflict they need to engage the abortion folks heavily in time for the election .

We shall see but I predicted this when the first articles started appearing inthe press pushing for her retirement

And as far as Ruth Buzzy Ginsburg goes, she could have done the same thing, but no, she was saving her seat to be filled by the first female president, HRC. It would have been historic. (LOL)

It's horrible, isn't it?

RBG was in terrible health during the second Obama term - should have resigned then. But the Dems wanted the "optics" of the first woman president appointing her successor. RBG's health and welfare was of no concern to them whatsoever.

Then when Trump unexpectedly won, they pretty much kept the poor lady on life support, desperately trying to keep her little frail heart beating until such time they could get the White House back.

The whole episode makes me sick, pure evil, and it was poetic justice that Trump himself got to pick her successor.

Why wouldn't he be able to appoint another Conservative justice?

But how will the SCOTUS function without a “wise Latina”? Or maybe the dems will put AOC on the bench.

These RINO’s make me wanna puke!
Roberts and ABC were HUGE mistakes, and Kavanaugh isn’t far behind!
I’d love to know how they change their judicial philosophy on a dime. Like so after they get confirmed.
Wonder if any of em have been to a Diddy party?

The democrats want Biden’s handlers to nominate a black female who doesn’t know what a biologist is.

I don't think any President would dare replace a Latina with a non-Hispanic white--the outcry would be deafening, plus he could win plaudits for picking a Hispanic reflecting his own philosophy. When Thurgood Marshall retired, was there any chance that George H. W. Bush was going to pick a white man to replace him?

For the future, it's likely there will always be two "black" seats and one "Hispanic" seat on the Supreme Court. Next there will be an Asian seat and perhaps later a Muslim seat.

I think there are only two white males on the Washington State Supreme Court. It could end up something like that on the US Supreme Court. Pandering is the name of the game.

They want the vacancy now so Biden can appoint a liberal justice that is younger.
