Why do people give to this school?

I would say it’s a pretty safe bet that none of us here travel in the circles of people who DO support this and other universities just like it - way too many of them nationwide. Hence, we won’t be able to ask that question of anyone who has involvement with any of them.
FReeper ~~Behind Liberal Lines~~ might be the one who could give us the answer. He lives among them in or close to Ithaca which is home to Cornell University - no different - all the same...I worked at Cornell in the mid ‘50’s and lived outside the city but also in the city for a time. No comparison to the “then and now.”
Boggles my mind WHY any of them are called “higher education.” Higher than what???
