That was established before her tenure. I don’t think there’s much to stop a ship that massive from plowing through whatever is placed in it’s path, short of having a channel that prohibits travel outside of its banks.

I’m still not clear on the currents in that area. Seems that ship travel should be to the side allowing a margin of safety under these conditions. Considering the strategic importance of the bridge, it would have been wise to have tugs present until the bridge was cleared.
