Trump Is Financially Ruining the Republican Party (the party that funded Lisa Murkowski's reelection)
New York Times ^ | 3/31/24 | Michelle Cottle

Donald Trump is someone you should think carefully about hitching your financial fortunes to. The guy is a gifted carnival barker, no doubt. But when it comes to serious business, he is a bad bet. Many of his ventures, from vodka and steaks to casinos and “university” degrees, have flopped like dying fish. Declaring corporate bankruptcy seems to be one of his favorite hobbies. And even when he wriggles away from failure largely unscathed, the other parties involved aren’t always so fortunate. Where money is involved, anyone still foolish enough to crawl into bed with him should be prepared for the experience to end in tears.

Which leads me to gently note: Hey, Republican Party, pay attention! You are being herded toward potential financial ruin. The red flags are smacking you in the face. Wake up and smell the grift!

“Many people here believe that Trump does not need money to campaign. I suspect Trump disagrees.”

It is not Trump that concerns me so much as to fundraising. Its all the national and state down ticket positions - state reps, governors, ect, and house and senate races and the GOP pacs and every GOP fundraising arm - they can be a bigger issue than Trump in terms of fundraising.

And what great victory would it be to win the battle - Trump - and lose the war - control of state houses and legislatures and the house and the senate?

Lara Trump has already made it clear that she's not concerned with down-ballot races.

Big mistake if she thinks her father can govern by himself.

>>> It’s not funding his campaign, and organizations make money off all sorts of bibles.

He is pushing the envelope... While he may not be taking money from the sales, he is benefiting politically by using the bible as a prop.... for someone who says it’s his favorite book, I’m not sure I’ve ever heard him talk about who Jesus is. That’s what the bible is all about... and he doesn’t talk much about HIM.
