NYC couple sued by squatters who allegedly took over their $930K investment home and won’t leave: ‘It’s absolutely absurd’

A pair of alleged squatters accused of unlawfully moving into a Queens duplex are suing its rightful owners after refusing to vacate the $930,000 home.

It’s the latest logic-defying chapter in the ongoing squatter saga in the borough, which in recent weeks has seen multiple homes occupied by unwelcome invaders who claim rights to the properties under New York City’s permissive laws.

“It’s absolutely absurd,” said the owner of the latest targeted home, Juliya Fulman — who so far has racked up more than $4,000 in legal bills fighting the suit — to The Post on Sunday. “These people literally broke into my house. It’s not fair to us as homeowners that we are not protected by the city,” said the Jamaica property owner.

The only thing the squatters would understand is violence. We are getting closer to the time where frontier justice will become necessary and an every day occurrence. Could be a lucrative business- squatter pest control.

‘It’s absolutely absurd’

What’s even more “absurd” is that YOU voted for it!

I guess you don’t realize - if there is violence, the property owners will be charges, and the squatters won’t.

Trying to care. Trying to care. Nope. You live in states that allow this, there you are.

Find a tall tree and 'decorate' it...

Yes, but in the meanwhile, take action via the initiative/referendum route.

I'm thinking holding owners harmless against any liabilities, holding squatters (and all who abet them) liable for any and all damages, jail terms, deportations etc.

Voters would likely approve.

And, what a great issue for this election year!

Every state has Adverse Possession, it’s part of English law, but they may make it worse in some states.

It’s hard to feel sympathy for New Yorkers who vote these people in that allow such things. All of this left wing nonsense is fun and games until it lands on your own front door. Just like illegal immigration in California....where rich people are now having to deal with it and dont’ like it. yet they are pretty much all democrats.

You asked for it, you got it toyota.

Here, they will drag out and arrest you. There are vacant houses in my neighborhood. If you go in and change the locks, they will charge you with Breaking and Entering. You are not allowed to change the locks.

I bet they’d pack up and leave if 10-15 bikers rolled up.

Keep voting and electing democrats. I don't feel an ounce of sympathy for these people. I guess someone has to take their property before they realize that democrats don't care about Americans. Putting illegals up in expensive hotels, giving them free medical and $2000 a month in free debit cards didn't teach them. Even firing American workers in order to hire thousands of illegals didn't wake them up. Well, now they are taking over your house and next it will be your life. Vote democrat you imbecilic douchebags.

As rightful owners of the home can they not go to utility companies and shut down power and water? Go change locks, camp on the property and play loud music. Dump a truckload of manure bring all sorts of noxious stuff to make squatters life miserable since the law won’t help. At this point anything short or arson.

Illinois governor owns a lot of private homes, can a squatter move in and claim it’s his.
Read where the White House is exempt from squatters due to some sort of historical location loophole.
I don’t believe a governor’s private residence is covered under this rule.

“You live in states that allow this, there you are.”

We should care.
There are good people in every state.
This stuff will spread like cancer to other places.
Not caring is how we lose our country.

Can’t do that. Illegal to shut off utilities on a “renter”
