And, she took trash that was left behind and exposed what was in it. Didn’t privacy end when Ashley abandoned her diary? Since when is someone who finds a lost item responsible to the owner who abandoned (lost) it? Isn’t “finders keepers, losers weepers” the “law” when someone finds a winning lottery ticket, a wallet, etc? So this woman is going to pay because Ashley couldn’t keep track of her own diary?
Nope. Here in Alabama it is called theft of lost or misplaced property. If you find a bag of lost money or other property and you keep it it is a crime.
