U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon denied former President Donald Trump’s request to dismiss the documents case in a ruling on Thursday.
Trump’s team had argued that the Presidential Records Act takes priority over the Espionage Act when it came to highly classified documents he took to Mar-a-Lago after he left office, but Cannon rejected the request to dismiss the case on those grounds, writing in the filing, “The Presidential Records Act does not provide a pre-trial basis to dismiss.”
Cannon also defended herself against attacks from Special Counsel Jack Smith, who had harshly criticized a request she gave both parties. He argued that the judge’s request embraced Trump’s view of the Presidential Records Act, allowing him to consider government documents as “personal.”

She will not be overturned to support Jack Smith’s position. The law clearly protects President Trump in this case.
Her instructions that the PRA supports Trump are quite mainstream.
“This case is not going to go to trial for a long time, almost certainly after the election.”
Trump can pause trail at anytime just by firing his lawyers, which he has a legal right to. The court would have to give him several months to a year to get the new lawyers up to speed. So, he has an Ace in his pocket.
“She will be overturned because the law is very clear, As is the case in all of the cases there is no there there.”
You don’t have a clue, maybe buy one through research. Look up what happened in Bill Clinton’s highly top secret tapes case and how it was ruled. There is RRA precedence that the President can keep any documents (highly top secret tapes in Clinton’s case) without declaring them to anyone.
I gathered as much. Thanks for the confirmation.
Thanks for the addendum…
