KYIV: Ukraine could run out of air defense missiles if Russia keeps up its intense long-range bombing campaign, President Volodymyr Zelensky warned in remarks aired on Saturday. The Ukrainian leader’s starkest warning to date of the deteriorating situation faced by his country’s air defenses follows weeks of Russian strikes on the energy system, towns and cities using a broad arsenal of missiles and drones. “If they keep hitting (Ukraine) every day the way they have for the last month, we might run out of missiles, and the partners know it,” he said in an interview that aired on Ukrainian television.

This possibility of getting into an armed conflict with Russia started with their bailing on Russia when the Soviets fell in the early 1990’s. They had to know this was a possibility. They just left at the right time with the Russian government being in chaos and not trying to stop them. Then when the Ukrainees really started to indicate their wealth and foreign trade possibilities the Russians got interested. So they want them back and are willing to do what they have been doing since the 1300’s...fight for it. And the Ukraine was never ready for it and struck their heads in the sand. Now they are begging for anyone to give them some more beach. And there are no secrets.

In WW2, the US sent 14,000 planes and 13,000 tanks to Russia. Biden has sent 0 planes and two dozen tanks. More importantly, he has prevented allies from sending US-sourced weaponry. Will they give Biden the finger and finally break Biden’s equipment logjam? We shall find out in the days ahead. They are probably betting that if he imposes sanctions on them for sending advanced gear to Ukraine, he will lose the vote of national security-focused independents, maybe costing him the election.
