“It means that there is no command structure to enforce adherence to any peace agreement.”

You and I understand something that the leaders of the West ignore for political reasons. Coming up with a “solution” would be politically impossible, especially since the West is inundated with the problem. I am truly grateful that I am not someone involved in any solution. (I love meat, but I don’t want to shoot and dress a cow.) Also, I’m grateful I lived through what will be remembered as America’s golden age. We started downhill with LBJ and it got steadily worse from there. It’s like every Democrat became an anti-American. My father, a WWII veteran said when he voted for Reagan, “I didn’t leave the Democratic party. It left me.”

“You think any Palestinian would want to march his camel over green glass that covers mile after mile?”

These are the same people tht have been tortured and killed by hamas:

PALESTINE (STATE OF) 2022

Palestinian armed groups in Gaza committed apparent war crimes during three days of fighting with Israel in August, using unguided rockets in populated civilian areas and killing at least seven Palestinian civilians. Palestinian authorities in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip continued to heavily restrict freedom of expression, association and assembly. They also held scores of people in arbitrary detention and subjected many to torture and other ill-treatment. Justice for serious human rights violations remained elusive. The Hamas de facto authorities in Gaza carried out the first executions in five years.

https://www.amnesty.org/en/location/middle-east-and-north-africa/middle-east/palestine-state-of/report-palestine-state-of/#:~:text=They%20also%20held%20scores%20of,first%20executions%20in%20five%20years.

These “civilians” are the same people that have allowed themselves to be taken as human shields and placed in harm’s way by hamas over the last year and have been tortured by hamas sine 2008 and haven’t thrown hamas out. As for the original question at the top, can you say they won’t? If they aren’t afraid from the actions of hamas, then why would they be afraid of some low level, alpha, radioative rock? You’re assuming they will stay out. I’m assuming they probably won’t.

Do not worry. Israel will kill off Hamas.
Whether Biden likes it or not.

Hamas will simply disappear from the face of the earth
via coordinated special ops.

People forget the history of Israel and its fight for independence. THat is still ongoing and will never cease.

Hamas is toast. There will be no further so called “2 state”
solution.

I wasn't the one who mentioned turning Gaza into glass but I know that means dropping a thermonuclear bomb.   I don't wish that because the fallout would land in Israel.

I am really confused with your off the wall gobbledygook.   Your responses make no sense at all.

Say something about thermonuclear bombs on Gaza or say nothing at all.   Your regurgitating information we all already know is tedious and has nothing to do with my comments.

You need to investigate the effects of a thermonuclear detonation.   Nothing is left to go back to.

If complete and unrestricted warfare were allowed like in Biblical times, the Israelis would defeat the Palies without a problem.

“You need to investigate the effects of a thermonuclear detonation.”

Fallout contamination decays rapidly (giving off > 80% of its energy in the first day, so early, gross decontamination (such as removing or changing outer layer of clothing) is far more effective than a delayed, if more thorough, wash down.

Additionally, did you miss the part of the article that said people were collecting the tritium and selling it for jewelry in Japan?

Your concern I suspect is about the gamma radiation which goes away fairly rapidly. The tritium is an alpha stage level waste and hold low levels of actual rads...

A good article on this is this:

https://remm.hhs.gov/nuclearfallout.htm#description

One hour after a surface burst, the radiation from fallout in the crater region is 30 grays per hour (Gy/h). Civilian dose rates in peacetime range from 30 to 100 µGy per year. Fallout radiation decays relatively quickly with time. Most areas become fairly safe for travel and decontamination after three to five weeks.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_fallout#:~:text=One%20hour%20after%20a%20surface,after%20three%20to%20five%20weeks.

You’ve been reading that the area is a wasteland for a long time after nudet. That would only end up if the nuclear winter theory stands. Please read the articles I mentioned to get a better idea of what can happen.

Incidentally, I suggest you study the portion of Marawi, Philippines, that was infested by terrorists. It’s not there any more. At least not as a city, anyway.

That’s correct unless the bomb itself is made to scatter a large amount of long half-life isotopes.

(Sorry for the late replies - I’d left this thread open on this, one of my “alternate” computers, got busy, and just got back to it.)

“...scatter a large amount of long half-life isotopes.”

Thankfully most isotopes reach half life status in a few days and don’t have much effect on the body. You are right though in that there easily could be a longer exposure time up to about 3K years. But the people they want to kill will justcome out of the woodwork from somewhere else and the cycle will start again.

You must be rich if you have a few alternative computers. And young as an an old guy like me is still trying to figure out how to use the one I’ve got.

Not rich at all. I buy refurbs, sometimes spiff ‘em up a bit. Best bet is often to find a refurb with the previous Windows version on it that is capable of the latest version, and do the upgrade. (This so long as Microsoft keeps providing free upgrades when they bring out the latest OS.)

If the old computer doesn’t fatally break, it can be used for a long time for anything that doesn’t require a current OS. I still have a well functioning (for what I use it for) 486 out in my lab, running DOS. Granted I can’t go on the web with it.

I’ve not tried it recently but I expect my old XP machine would still access FR. Old, well, I’m in my late 60’s, but I try (try) to keep up. That gets me asking IT questions here and elsewhere often...
