Graham breaks with Trump on national abortion ban

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) broke with former President Trump on Monday over Trump’s decision to back away from endorsing a national 15-week abortion ban, declaring that leaving the issue entirely to the states “runs contrary to an American consensus that would limit late-term abortions.”

“I respectfully disagree with President Trump’s statement that abortion is a states’ rights issue,” he said in a statement responding to Trump.

Trump on Monday reversed course on his plan to support a 15-week or 16-week national abortion ban amid pushback from top Republicans, who warned it would put the issue of abortion rights at the forefront of the 2024 campaign and hurt their chances to taking back the White House and the Senate majority.

Graham, however, argued that “the pro-life movement has always been about the wellbeing of the unborn child — not geography.”

I agree. Grahamnesty (typed in my best Rush Limbaugh voice) doesn’t have our best interests at heart.

Its almost like the RINO’s want abortion to be front and center. Cause they all know what the result will be.

Lindsay is trying to throw the election by coming out as the perfect conservative, when it’s convenient for him to do so.

Here we go again. What an idiot.

Gives Trump the forum to triangulate. That helps. The young women out there pay more attention to the POTUS candidate than a McCainiac.

Abortion is the third rail for Republicans. Any mention of it brings out countless harpies to vote Dem.

There’s no “almost” about it. It’s called deliberate sabotage and the usual suspect RINOs have been doing it for their entire political careers.... for decades. Only question is... how the hell do they keep getting re-elected in the GOP. They should have been purged and driven out long ago. What’s the deal with that? The deal is... it’s a rigged system uniparty placebo to keep the masses pacified into non-action. It’s working splendidly for them, and against us, even now.

Linda is a part of the wonderful South Carolina Republican Club of Liberals. If she were honest she would admit that it has and should always be a state issue and never should have reached the federal level.

Linda is once again trying to destroy the Republican party, knowing the liberal GOP in SC will protect her seat.

Trump should kick Linda to the curb immediately, she brings nothing to a Trump ticket and only hurts him.

Lindsey Graham - The Supreme Court has overturned Roe v Wade and said it was a state matter. That is a victory in my book. Now if you want to do battle in every state then go for it, but at the National Level it is toxic.

I am not a one issue voter. I do not support a candidate on one thing but on their over all position. The choice is another four years of a Democrat as President or four years of a Republican as President?

If you turn against Trump you are supporting the Democrats (perhaps that is what you want anyway, and this is just an excuse).

A 15 week limit is not conservative.
Re-federalizing the issue is not conservative.
