James O’Keefe’s O’Keefe Media Group has released undercover footage of a Federal Reserve employee admitting to how Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell sabotaged President Trump and wants to go down in history as “someone who held the line against Trump.”
Principal Economist Aurel Hizmo, a self-proclaimed liberal, told an undercover journalist more about Powell’s hatred for Trump, saying, “As soon as he became Chair, Trump wanted him to lower interest rates. Because when you lower interest rates, it stimulates the economy, and Trump was President. He wanted to stimulate the economy, but he wouldn’t do it. And he started raising interest rates, and doing the opposite of what Trump wanted. Trump tried to find all the loopholes to fire him.”

On November 2, 2017, President Donald Trump nominated Powell to serve as the chair of the Federal Reserve, replacing Janet Yellen at the helm of the central bank.
You could make the case the majority of Trump’s nominations were similar to Powell, terrible is the best thing you could say about them, never fear it will be better next time

I think this Hismo guy was blowing smoke. President Trump and Powell did have their disagreements, but when covid hit, Trump said in June 2020 that he was very happy with Powell’s performance and that “over the last period of six months, he’s really stepped up to the plate”.

Jerome Powell might have some memory issues.
Interest rates on the USA 10 Year Treasury Bond were below 1% from January 2020 to October 2020.
It looks like Powell raised interest rates twice in 4Q 2020, but just 0.25% each time, which would have had no obvious impact on the economy before election day.
Maybe Powell is suggesting that Trump was blamed for the slow down after 2020, when USA 10 Year Bond interest rates went to 4.5%?
Curiously, the German 10 Year Bund interest rate has been consistently priced at one half the USA interest rate for the last five years.
