An Air Force cadet and a Navy midshipman have won their lawsuit after being denied promotions for being HIV-positive.
Former Navy midshipman Kevin Deese and former Air Force cadet John Doe (a pseudonym) filed the lawsuit against the Department of Defense in 2018 when they were denied commissions after graduating from their respective service academies simply because they are living with HIV.
The settlement, announced Monday, will see that the two are commissioned as officers "in recognition of the status and military careers they qualified for and earned years ago," according to a Lambda Legal press release.

When I was in my early 20s, I understood that the U.S. military likely wouldn’t accept me, because I am a cancer survivor. They did not want to take the chance. I also cannot donate blood or an organ for the rest of my natural life.
Meanwhile, HIV positive dudes can get military commissions, and MSM can donate blood if they haven’t been active during the past six months, so I understand. What is wrong with this picture?

Blame Obama and Biden. Obama hired the NAMBLA puke as his Education Czar. Frankly, things started with Clinton. He pushed many things on our military. I would not serve these days with all the WOKE AND other crap. Our America that most here loved enough to die for is lost.
HIV is largely curable now. I see no problem with them getting the commissions they earned. They would pose no medical threat, and that’s the only threat that is operative in this matter.
Ditto!!! I feel the same way. Today’s “military” is not the same military I was proud to be a part of. When I see a 5’2”, 400 lb. female First Sergeant shopping in uniform at Walmart during the middle of the day, I just can’t bring myself to say, “Thank you for your service.” That would be like saying “Thank you for your service” the waitresses at the Pancake shack.
I’m in my 50s, have a bum right shoulder, had cancer and still have kidney disease, BUT I really want to serve my country.
My feelings would be hurt if I don’t get the opportunity to serve.

Yes, your right of course. These guys are ass wipes and are actually proving they have no business in uniform not just because of their HIV, but because they don’t get the whole concept of service, subordinating oneself under the mission, being part of a organization where you are but a cog in a wheel.
What their legal case really proves is that they are completely the wrong type of people you want in leadership in the military.
Ideally, the military needs young, healthy, heterosexual, males that are unmarried at entry. Yes, even just being married and having children adds stress to the organization in managing those issues.
They shouldn't be in the military at all. Homosexuals are mentally ill, and not fit to have any role in the military. The nation was better off when we locked them up in asylums.

You clearly have no understanding of all the other threats that are posed by homosexuals. It's not just HIV. The homosexual community serves as a reservoir of the nastiest diseases in humanity.
Their mental outlook is full of suicides and murders, and when they commit murder, it is usually particularly violent, as in stabbing someone 50 times. They have a very high rate of suicide, in fact I have read that suicide is the number one cause of death among homosexuals.
And this statistic holds true in very homo friendly San Fransicko.
They molest children when the opportunity presents itself. In fact, studies of homosexuals indicate that a majority were themselves sexually molested as children.
The US military policy for most of it's existence is absolutely correct. Keep homosexuals out of the military.
That's why I oppose the legalized use of Marijuana and other drugs. When the users have toked themselves into befuddled unemployability, it will be declared a disease and disability. Then they'll take our tax money to support the users.
