Russian troops advance in Ukraine as Kyiv runs low on air defenses
The Washington Post ^ | April 12, 2024 | Isabelle Khurshudyan and Serhii Korolchuk

As Ukrainian officials plead for more Western arms and a U.S. aid package remains stalled in Congress, Russia is advancing on the battlefield in eastern Ukraine, seizing new territory and intensifying attacks to capture the town of Chasiv Yar and others in the Donetsk region.

Away from the front line, Ukraine’s dwindling air defense capabilities are showing vulnerabilities, as more Russian missiles and drones are able to hit targets such as critical infrastructure facilities.

Outside Kyiv — considered Ukraine’s best-protected city — the largest power plant serving the capital was destroyed Thursday, stoking concerns that Ukraine might be running out of surface-to-air missiles to counter the Russian airstrikes.

“We need air defense systems and other defense assistance, not just turning a blind eye and having lengthy discussions,” President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

For months, Ukrainian military personnel have described the battlefield situation as dire due to a shortage of weapons and soldiers amid a renewed Russian offensive. They have reported increased Russian bombardment using guided air bombs, dropped from their planes onto Ukrainian military positions.

With resources running low, this assault in eastern Ukraine could threaten larger towns and cities such as Kostiantynivka, just west of Chasiv Yar — potentially advancing Russian President Vladimir Putin’s goal of seizing the entire Donetsk region, which he has already declared, illegally, to be annexed by Russia.

The Ukrainians know what is in store for them with any Russian “peace” deal
History may not repeat but it does rhyme

Moscow’s trolls are working in a frenzy, not only on FR, but also all over Europe. The Ukrainians are fighting splendidly but the West has logistics fatigue.

We need to step up and provide Ukraine with the necessary BBs or the Lenin Plazas will spread.

Predictable outcome given that Ukraine made homosexual marriage an agenda during the middle of a war. Non-serious leaders tend to screw over the people under them.

“Russia must withdraw all troops and armed formations from the territory of Ukraine”

That won’t happen Mommy Dearest.

Yes, that speaks volumes, doesn’t it?

Well, they have some outsized expectations around evicting Russia from all territories—especially since they have nothing to kick Russia out from them.

I am completely fine, as are you, with the entire country being killed off. After all, they deserve it, right? They did not grow their military to protect their borders and its citizens couldn't all have weapons and get training to properly handle guns and fight, like Israel and Switzerland. In the US, we say everyone can own and use guns, and we understand every citizen is independently helpful for our mutual defense. Ukraine said none of that mattered, with Russia right there.

Ukraine could have settled with a peace treaty letting Russia have what it already took in 2014. In fact, little was done to build up to hit back Russia.

Ukraine can demand full restitution, but it is not practical or likely. When you have nothing to force the invader out, mere pleas from a mouse are laughed at.

The EU sure didn't care about Ukraine's lack of defenses, and they still don't care about their own lack of defenses. The US was chided for ever encouraging any of them to care about their defenses. These countries literally had multiple wars in which they were conquered, and they still don't care.

People in the US pushing to bankrupt the US to have our excess care blanket the world's indifference is insane. We are continuing to give drugs to a street druggie. They never learn without going cold turkey.

These countries berate us for all sorts of nonsensical things, while prioritizing Global Warming and encouraging invasion by Muslim terrorists to rape their citizens.

Let their decisions haunt them—ALL.

No more money for them, period, and fight to the last man, so that Russia gets all the women and land, Ukraine! Us pro-Ukraine US citizens fully back that worthy end goal!

“ Interest on the federal debt is now so immense that it’s consuming 40% of all personal income taxes. The largest source of revenue for the federal government is increasingly being devoted to just servicing the debt, not even paying it down.

The problem is getting worse daily . . .”
**********************************

Well, hells bells, let’s spend yet another HUNDRED BILLION DOLLARS on the UKRAINE PROJECT. After all, EVERY SINGLE PENNY will be added to OUR national debt.

That time has passed. Russia did offer concessions, earlier, but territory was going to have be permanently turned over.

That would have ended the conflict and many hundreds of thousands of people would still be alive or not maimed, today.

We'd still have power generation facilities and intact families. We'd have functional farms and cities across Ukraine, too.

I say let Ukraine kill off every last man, as all the Pro-Ukraine War supporters also say, fighting a fight that never had to happen. The EU never even cared to build up their militaries to prepare or help other countries, either.

Die, all Ukrainian males! We pro-Ukrainian US supporters of your deaths await your extermination with glee—and we may still give your gay dancer president hundreds of billions more, to assure your ignoble deaths!

The US is the defender of the free world globally whether by formal agreement or not for decades on end.

We haven't been all that AT LEAST 15 years.

Our foreign policy has been hijacked by elitist that want to use it to enrich themselves.

We setoff color revolutions, civil wars and destabilize other nations so our elite can make money off the misery we cause.

The elite force the LGBT and green agendas on other nations against the wishes of the masses.

You're totally clueless how corrupt our foreign policy has become. There is no excuse for that given that Obama and Biden are the ones corrupting it.
