Iranian sources I spoke to say that Khamenei wanted an equal response to Israel (referring to the Israeli attack in Damascus), but that the attack on Israel has not been carried out by the IRGC as Khamenei wanted.

Israel has the Arrow II anti-ballistic missile, which was already used against Houthi missiles. Israel has one of the most comprehensive air defense networks in the world integrating airborne radars, naval radars, and ground-based radars. Israel has the Arrow 1 and 2, ship-launched Barak 8, and the David's Sling to shoot down ballistic missiles. Israeli has the David's Sling, Patriot, SPYDER (Python and Derby) medium range system, and Iron Dome short range missile systems and is deploying the Iron Beam laser, which was in testing. Israel has been preparing for this for over 30 years. US destroyers in the Red Sea shot down Houthi missiles with the SM-3 and SM-6. We also shot down missiles over Iraq because the Biden administration does not want Israel to respond in kind.

The closer the launch points, the shorter the intercept window. Perhaps the Iranian fear is of the dismantlement of Hezbollah or the Alawitre regime in Syria. It’s not unthinkable that Israel could kill either the Hezbollah leader or Assad, which would touch off succession struggles, and maybe organizational collapse in those countries.

My initial Public thoughts:

We need to start to view this is an economic attack not just a military one

The expensive defense systems used to shoot down these relatively old cheap rockets missiles etc —.

Iran needs to be eradicated period

Start with their power plants, Oil production capabilities , Dams and anything that supports their Nuke program.

I suggest doing it quickly before the World tolerance for retaliation (very short) expires.

Not a single human being would blame Israel after last night.
