The name is of Spanish origin. Also to do with Spanish opera.
The etymology of the name is uncertain, but some propose it may derive from the name of a royal hunting lodge, the Palace of Zarzuela, near Madrid, where that type of entertainment was allegedly first presented to the court.
The palace in turn was named after the brambles (zarzas) that grew there.

Thanks You. When I saw the article on Daily Mail, the name rang a bell in my near 92 year old brain, but I couldn't remember what it was, and it was bothering me.
