Protesters are causing major traffic issues across the Bay Area, including in Oakland and on the Golden Gate Bridge, as part of a worldwide economic blockade in solidarity with Palestine.
The first protest Monday morning happened on northbound I-880 in Oakland at 5th Ave., where protesters brought barrels filled with concrete onto the highway and chained themselves to the barrels. Law enforcement had to cut through the barrels before they could arrest the protesters. Two lanes have been reopened.

Get a few good ol’ boys to toss a few over the side. It’s a long way down so their screams will echo in the minds of the other protesters forever. Pretty sure the protest will thin out quickly enough.

Nothing will help get Americans to sympathize with Palestinians like making their commute more unpleasant. They really thought this out.

I can’t believe there is a problem. If the had chained themselves to the bridges, that might have been a lot smarter. But chaining themselves to barrels full of cement opens up the chance that if the state brings in a front end loader, they just push the barrels over the side of the highway. Whereever the barrels go, the terrorists must follow. Simple fix, road open, terrorists removed.
