New York Judge Threatens Trump With Jail Time During First Day In Court - 'Election Interference' by: Sterling Mosley 04.15.2024
On Monday, presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump traveled to New York City for the first day of his criminal trial in the hush money case brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D). The defense and prosecution will begin to decide who will serve on the 12-man jury that will decide the 45th president's fate. During the hearing, Trump, who has repeatedly railed against the case as political persecution, was threatened by presiding Justice Juan Merchan that he would face jail time if he were to interrupt court proceedings or if he failed to appear while the trial was taking place.
During the hearing, Judge Merchan explained to the former president that he would be arrested if he did not appear at every hearing in the criminal trial in the coming months, a move that many conservative commentators claim is election interference. "If you do not show up, there will be an arrest," Merchan said. The trial is expected to take place over the next couple of months, perhaps even lasting until June.

One Defendant to my knowledge has had charges dismissed by raising the defense that essentially they were invited into the Capital. It was a restricted area, period.
As far as Antifa, were any of them arrested?
As noted, THOUSANDS of people attended the rally and were not arrested.

I’ve heard that excuse for a number of years. This is life or death for our nation. You don’t think you can just get off from work for half a day? They might not even have jobs in the near future if this nation falls. So it seem they are using they jobs as an excuse, that’s a rotten spineless excuse . No I’ve realized that the American people have lost the backbone and stones to defend this nation. Yet without fear, the Muslim invaders are out there, make no mistake, protesting in the hundreds in New York today. Testosterone? THEY have balls of steel!!

The fact doesn’t change that to get to SCOTUS there is a process and they can’t intervene unilaterally.
And just who would this POS judge send to arrest Trump? Good luck getting past the SS. I pray Trump shows up at the SCOTUS hearing next week.

There comes a time when you cut your losses and here is one of them. The charge is a misdemeanor. Of course there is always the possibility that the court might try to impose a ridiculous fine. But if your going after Trump then you have you to after everyone else that has paid hush money for whatever reason. As far as I know Trump did not use Campaign money it was his money or more to the point Cohen paid it in hopes he would be reimbursed. This thing really goes nowhere.
Tar & feathers have not(to my knowledge)been used for a long time, yet this might be perfect to use against the overeager prosecutors of Trump. Normally I would never travel to NYC for anything, yet it might be worth it to see Bragg, Smith, Leticia James, or or one of these other troublemakers wearing the tar & feathers. The publicity factor alone would make it worthwhile.
That certainly appears to be the case.
Some one on the SCOTUS is in charge of the courts in New York. That person should step in and end this farce.
Good question, I doubt the NYPD could do it and it would be kicked up the chain to figure that out. My guess is U.S. Marshall service would have to be involved.
Realistically they would make a deal and he would be under House Arrest.
