John Eastman, once an attorney for former President Donald Trump, was de-banked twice in the span of several months by two prominent financial institutions, Bank of America and USAA, he told the Daily Caller. His accounts were closed as he faced substantial backlash for his work advising Trump around the time of the 2020 election.

USAA?
I’ll give them a piece of my mind.
Are they Federally insured? Sue their asses to the floor.
USAA was great when they limited membership to officers and NCOs. It was really good when they limited membership to military. Now? Anyone REMOTELY connected to the military can join, and the great strength of USAA was that their clients were all low-risk people.
No longer true. I don’t think they are any WORSE than other banks, but after 40 years I no longer think they are special.
USAA claimed in its letter that it was “exercising its right to no longer do banking business” with Eastman per its “Depository Agreement.”
“We may close your account for any reason without advance notice. We may require you to give us a minimum of seven (7) calendar days advance written notice when you intend to close your account by withdrawing your funds,” a section of the agreement reads.
I just want confirmation that they closed his account from them.
Nope- not even in a flood zone.
No claims, nothing. Just a 2 story 2800 sq ft home that is only 3 yrs old.
Just stunning that USAA would do this. Bank of America I can believe, but USAA? They should be the most non-political entity, since they are mainly there for military people & their kids. My father was Air Force, so I’ve considered using them. Not any more.
I had a credit union account but closed it last year after I retired. I’ve had USAA since the early 2000’s. I may go back to that credit union and reopen an account. It’s local, and it’s safe, then close USAA. Dunno.
When they closed the accounts.
Does that mean that they stole his money?
TDS trolls here ask why Trump has difficulty hiring lawyers. Same reason that lawyers in other countries with corrupt governments are afraid to represent those who dare challenge those governments. Before Biden, USgov was reluctant to go this far.
Somebody wants your land.
I’ve been a member for 50 years. I have house and auto insurance with USAA. I wasn’t aware of this either. USAA is insurance for military families. I can’t believe their customers are going to accept this. There ought to be some kind of organized boycott of the company. I bet that would make them change their tune.
The auto insurance is going postal due to EV’s and other NEW CARS. Seat warmers & steering wheel warmers & back up cameras & LANE BEEPERS are EXPENSIVE.
They all are very complicated & EXPENSIVE to fix.
Losses are blanketed all over the country-—. Even all those FLOOD losses in hurricane territories.
UNINSURED DRIVERS ALSO PART OF THE PROBLEM-—THANKS TO BIDEN
I live in rural high desert of Nevada.
I drive a 1976 1 ton Chevy truck-—
I Have driven over 1 MILLION MILES since I turned 16. Have driven truck over 250,000 miles.
I HAVE HAD NO ACCIDENTS. NONE. NADA. ZIP.
Current FULL coverage on truck==over $86 a month.
MY UNINSURED COVERAGE == ALMOST 42% of the premium.
If you live in a high-fire risk area, everybody’s insurance is going up this year. The retail insurance providers can’t get sufficient reinsurance to cover their loss exposures, regardless of who or where they are.
My home insurance premiums doubled.
Eastman is a victim of...
Read their mission statement at the link. Bastards.
We live on the NC coast, about a quarter mile from the Cape Fear River and about 5 miles from the coastline.
I fully expect mine to at least double but 400%??!!!
A teacher posted on our neighborhood website that her mortgage payment had gone up $400 because of her insurance increasing.
Did your car ins go up?
Something is going on behind the scenes.
The current EV slice of the pie is 1%.
That segment and new cars isn’t going to drive insurance prices up by 20%.
And it's not just insurance. Apparently normal law professors are increasingly unwelcome in law schools.
Thanks.
I’ve had about an 80-90% increase in my car insurance over
the last 24 months.
