NPR’s queen of the Karens
Washington Examiner ^ | 16 Apr 2024 | Conn Carroll

Sometimes, a person enters the public spotlight and is such an embodiment of an established stereotype that it seems impossible for him or her to be a real person. If Tom Wolfe wanted to capture the essence of arrogant, alienated progressivism, he would reject NPR’s new CEO, Katherine Maher, as too unbelievably on point.

...

t would be impossible to create a resume of a person more disconnected from Americans and more intertwined with the wealthy, urban, globalist elite who run the largest banks, media companies, and nonprofit groups in the United States. In other words, Maher has the perfect resume to run NPR.

And her tweets prove she is the perfect person for the job.

She’s a vegetarian. She hates cars. And white men flying on planes. She supports race-based reparations, rioting, and the Black Lives Matter movement. She believes “America is addicted to white supremacy.”

She doesn’t want to become a mother because “the planet is literally burning.” She uses phrases such as “CIS white mobility privilege” unironically. She admits to growing up “feeling superior … because I was from New England and my part of the country didn’t have slaves.” I wonder what fuels her sense of superiority now.

As completely out of touch as Maher’s views are with the rest of America, the scary part is how willing she is to use her ample power to snuff out dissenting voices.

Her mother’s maiden name was Catherine Cecelia Queenie. Catherine Cecelia is VERY Catholic sounding. Her father was a Goldman Sachs Executive.

This one was not just from New England, but from WILTON. In its own way, Wilton, and its surrounding area is snobbier than Greenwich. Folks from Wilton want to be away from the riff-raff. When she was raised, her town of Wilton was DRY. NOT because they were old school Baptists, but because it made it easier to keep things out. (You could still have your single malt scotch at home, you just couldn’t drink in public or pick up a six-pack at the gas station.)

Very possibly one of those “progressive” catholics, with “womenpriests” and no kneelers.

I was just thinking that the other day. They need to end it completely. Start over with a mandate to be apolitical. Or, require a balance of political voice equal to voting patterns.

“DEFUND NPR....”

************

This would be a good place to start defunding wasteful, corrupt and weaponized liberal programs, but the gutless GOP will never do it.

Smart, pretty, accomplished, public speaker, and hopelessly liberal:

"smart" and "liberal" should NEVER be used together.

Smart? Prove it.

Pretty? That’s debatable.

Accomplished? At what?

Public speaker? Adolph Hitler was a fantastic public speaker. Really got the crowds fired up.

Hopelessly liberal? Try committed communist.

Maybe we should start some kind of a campaign to get Henry Louis Gates, Jr. to look into her genealogy.

Check out the demographics of Wilton:

0.6% black

New England knows how to do racism for real.

New England knows how to do racism for real.

Black Elk (RIP) relayed to me a George Wallace moment from a Dem debate in Massachusetts in '72. A New England reporter sneered that Wallace couldn't justify his running in enlightened Massachusetts with his racial stands.

Wallace asked the panel where they all lived. Wallace then described his own neighborhood, and closed with the rejoinder "Isn't the difference between you and me is that you don't care how big the black man gets as long as he doesn't get too close, and I don't care how close he gets as long as he doesn't get too big?"
